Hey everyone!

Last week, we relaunched the MadStream FRC Webcast Portal (http://madstream.team1323.com), which allows you to watch multiple webcasts, view scores, and chat all in one place.

Notable features include:
-Clean simple layout
-Ability to choose from different preset layouts
-Ability to drag and drop to rearrange videos
-Score ticker
-Chat

We got over 5000 visitors last weekend, and you guys provided some great feedback and suggestions. Thanks so much! We've implemented many of your ideas, and are ready to rumble in week 2! We will continue to update the webcast list as more become live.

Remember to like us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MadStream)!

Post in the Boilermaker Regional thread:

I have it working on Madstream (madstream.team1323.com) -- the stream is coming through Microsoft Silverlight so that might be the problem if you don't have it or the newest version.

On Madstream, I get audio but no video for Boilermaker. Only have Silverlight 4 (not updated to 5). Stream entirely works via Windows Media Player.

I have Silverlight 4 and it has sound. Silverlight and Windows Media are both pretty bad at compatibility, but we decided that Silverlight reaches a bigger audience. I'll reevaluate this choice if you guys think WM is better.

I would guess that more people are able to use a WMP stream, but that isn't something I'd presume to know. I don't know what the issue is here. I'd try updating to Silverlight 5, but I'm on a university computer (maybe that's the problem :P ).

Watching Boston, MidBest, Ohio and Waterloo. Life is great.

Eugene, how hard would it be to add the ability to full screen any cast within the browser window? I can't really fullscreen to the size of my monitors all the time but would like to make the portal bigger...

I do, but then I have to have 4 different windows/tabs open and I'm lazy. I like having 4 or 6 windows open then full screening for a good match at a certain event...

Update:

- Event standings have now been integrated into the MadStream experience.

- We've also added direct links to MadStream to make sharing easier! This will allow you to link to MadStream with a webcast preloaded in one of the screens. Just add "/?[event code]" to the end of the URL. For example, if you want to share the Silicon Valley Regional [SJ], just type http://madstream.team1323.com/?sj. Note that this only works with regionals whose webcasts are listed on MadStream for a given week.

As usual, please let us know of links to webcasts that aren't yet on MadStream!

Thanks, and happy viewing!

Suggestions:

- The ticker at the bottom is great. Can you make it so that if you click on the ticker it brings up the match detail? This would be similar to the www.watchfirstnow.com Match Results, displaying the Hybrid, Tele, Bridge, and Foul Point for the specific match.

- A button to swap the selected screen with the main screen. It would be great if you could unmute the selected screen and mute the swapped screen with the same press of the button.

Keep up the great work.

Week 6 Update:

Once again, thank you all for your feedback on MadStream (http://madstream.team1323.com/). Your suggestions have been great, so keep them coming!

We've added a new feature to the score ticker at the bottom of the page! Clicking on a particular score will give you the hybrid, teleop, bridge, etc. breakdown of the match! You can try it out at http://madstream.team1323.com/. Thanks to Clinton (FRC2337) for the idea.

We still need the links for NV, TX, and NC, so if you happen to hear of them please let us know so we can get them up on MadStream ASAP!

We're down to the last few hundred matches of the 2012 FIRST season, and they're going to be some of the best!
Be sure to remind your friends and family to check out the action going on at the Championship Event on MadStream (http://madstream.team1323.com/).
We will have FLL and FTC events as well. Many thanks to NASA for providing the webcast.

Thanks to everyone who made MadStream's first official season such a success. The feedback we've gotten has been very helpful, and the support we've garnered is truly amazing. We plan to work closely with other developers in the FIRST community over the next year to bring an even better experience.

If you have any comments or feedback, I'll be glad to chat with you in person this weekend in St. Louis. You can find me with either FRC604 or FRC1323. If you can't make it, please message us on our official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MadStream).

Best of luck to all teams competing!

Does anyone know if the Webcasts from The Red Alliance will be the same as well? If anyone knows of a webcast that will be different tell me about it and Ill try to record that as well. (providing I don't run out of disk space, I have about 4TB to record onto.)
