It's hard to believe the regional competition season is over. We've seen some great matches and every single FRC team has now competed. Week 6 aims to be the most complete rankings of the season.
This week we are testing our new voting system which is run through Google Docs, please report any issues. Thank You, click the link below to vote!

Ahhhhh too many teams to choose from, and i wasn't able to see all of them. OPR doesn't show everything, just look at Lone Star Semi 1-2. We need a top 50 before CMP starts.

I like the new google docs. Just voted.
Just voted . Top 50 would be great.
It just seams inconceivable that our robot WazooIII will not be at championships this year after a #1 and #2 seed (we missed #1 by one hybrid basket) and a top 20 OPR. Its a huge disappointment for us.
Please do us a favor and throw some votes our way.

All is not lost.
There's always IRI, MARC and Cage Match to give your bot some more playtime.

As an observer of robots from 4 different Regionals (Israel, Boilermaker, Silicon Valley, Queen City), I would vote for your robot to be the best I have seen this year. I agree that 829 not going to the Championships is a disappointment.
And you're a good pit neighbor also.

My team, 1056, may be the highest ranking team to not make it to worlds this year. OPR world rank of 11th. Could only afford one shot at it this year and we couldn't pull it off. Best of luck to 359 who had an unbelievable regional win in Houston this weekend. I can't believe no one has them in the top 25 after two more regional wins this year (I lost track of how many in a row that is) and Championship Chairmans last year. They jumped us to 10th place in World OPR and will be a force at Worlds. Get em Glenn!!

Team 2481 is 3rd in OPR world rank, and did not qualify for the championship.

If you want to get sympathy about your team being undervalued, don't spout OPR numbers. Back it up with hard facts and meaningful numbers.
Team 1712 had a higher OPR than 2590 at Lenape, but not a single person, on Dawgma or otherwise, would argue that we were anywhere as good as Team Nemesis.
OPR is a starting point and a quick reference tool. It is not an accurate performance metric. Comparing OPR across different events is completely meaningless.

Andy, that is an impressive itinerary. And it explains why we have not seen each other yet this season -- I was at KC, Waterford, Midwest, and Niles. Are you coming to MSC?
The Digital Goats have been inspiring me for several years now. Most memorably at the 2007 St. Louis regional when both 829 and 45 were deep picks (seeded in the bottom half of the field) by the undefeated #1 AC 1444, and that alliance took down the amazing combination of 148-217 in an epic final. (epic = Andy Baker, Paul Copioli, and John V-Neun all coaching, and the rack filling up.) The Goats' aggressive driving in that final was a deciding factor.
I have only seen 829 in video this year, but even from a distance their robot is awesome. Wish you guys played in Michigan. Maybe MARC?

Agreed. I will be talking about this in detail at my seminar at the Championship.

But, will we actually get that far into the presentation this year?
I vote Karthik gets as much time a he wants to present!
Now back to the Top25 conversation.... I just voted for the 1st time this year, so now I can complain about the rankings. ;)

Will you be posting details of what you discuss online? I'm interested to know more about what the OPR metric should be used for, if not cross regional statistics.

We definitely will, FIRST has tentatively given me a 2 hour presentation slot this year. More details to come once the agenda becomes official!

Thanks Richard, actually 1444 was seeded 2nd that year and they picked 45 and then us. Our tube mechanism was useless but we we had an innovative ramp system that we were never able to showcase during the regional. 45 believed in us and talked 1444 into picking us. Our first QF match was the first time we ever got two robots on top of us and we used that and aggressive defense with 1444 coupled with 45 scoring to win the regional. It was quite an honor to defeat such an amazing #1 alliance but to be fair it was a week one regional and they had some mechanical difficulties. In a later regional it may have been a different result.

are you going to do MSC/MAR Regional Previews/Predictions? if not then you should ;)

Exactly. It's impossible to see every team play live (or via webcast), especially when you're competing in a few weeks of regionals yourself. I use OPR as a start to see which teams I should check out, then watch videos to rank them.

Since it's district championship week, you guys should do previews and predictions of both MAR and MI during your breaks.

This was the most painful pick to watch. This solidified my disdain for the serpentine draft. We thought for certain 829 would fall to us and were very excited. Then Baker had to open his big mouth and get 1444 to pick you guys. I will never forget that alliance selection . . .

Shameless plug time (I feel we're going to need it with all the great performances out of top contenders this past weekend!):

I also think you should do previews/predictions for MSC/MAR. Just to tell the viewer what to watch for and get them ready for it. Maybe you could do it right before the countdown as a lead-in.

Just a heads up there is a system in place where Mike and I verify the lists before it gets calculated.
Sending in 8 submissions with 1468 isn't going to be included and it's a little annoying.

I finally got around to voting, and I like the new format.
Can't wait for tomorrow and FRCTop25's continued quest to reach 200 viewers.
