View Full Version : EDU bot power connector
Here is a question for the old timers.
I am using my teams edu bot controller for a personal project. This is a non robot platform and I have a 7.5VDC power source.
However I do not have the correct connector. IFI doesn't have any info on their legacy site for what type of connector to use and the product is discontinued.
Does any one know what connector type is needed to power on the EDU bot controller?

If I recall, I think a mating connector may have been available from Team Associated in the RC hobby industry back in the day. Can you post a picture?

For what it's worth, it's not a Tamiya RC connector. It's about the same size, though, and is a 2-pin unit with the male side soldered on the robot controller.
E-mail Vex/IFI technical support and see what they can do for you.
I had to go looking through all my notes from those years ago, but I do believe that they are Tyco Electronics (AMP), Mate-N-Lok series connectors. These are stocked by Mouser & Digikey
The "Plug" and Female pins are used ON the supplied battery.
The "Receptacle" and Male pins are used ON the robot controller side.

Thanks Phalanx for keeping such good notes. I'll sure they are the right ones but i will confirm when they ship here whether or not they are the correct parts.
because this happens to me all the time:

These are the correct part numbers.
I just checked my supply against an EDU controller.
