idea:
start something called national robo-call day
where kids, mentors, teachers, parents and whomever else is interested calls their school boards, principals, city councils, state and local law makers and tell them to support STEM and robotics programs
once a year in the fall before the start of the season
By support they can do 1 or all of of 3 things
*make an announcement about the program via their media channels
*donate or secure funds for the program
*come down to the program and visit the team
would you partake?
What she change or add about this idea?
Would it be useful?
Have a look at the following:

Our boys exhibited their FLL robots at the event held at Johnson Space Center along with people representing several other Lego-based competitions. NASA and several commercial robotics manufacturers were also exhibiting, some letting visitors test drive their robotic arms. One of the visitors gave me his contact details and said that his boss was looking for a high-school team to sponsor. Bonus!!

I love the idea... Just our team has been doing this weekly for the past 5 years. Nothing has changed yet except for a STEM credit add on.

Whatever you do, find another name for it. Robo-call is a term with a very poor connotation already. It's the practice of using automated dialers to make unsolicited phone calls. We've all gotten them and we all hate them.

It's a good idea, just a bad choice of name.

Agreed. Robo-calls have become a big annoyance in Canada. During the last federal election, there was a conspiracy that the conservative party used robo-calls to stop liberal voters from getting to the polls. It's a great idea, but needs to be renamed.
Definitely. I was planning something sort of like that anyway:)
