I cannot tell you how much our team is looking forward to this event. Check out the roster of teams that will be in Woostah this weekend:
http://www.wpi.edu/news/Events/BattleCry/challengers.html
We're talking the unofficial "Best of New England" showcase here (yes, a few key players are missing).
Thanks to Colleen Shaver and the rest of the crew that have arranged what has GOT TO BE the best organized off-season event.

Team 3467 is extremely excited!
This is shaping up to be a really competitive BC13!

There's a pretty good chance that I'm more excited about this than the rest of my team combined. I'm so happy that we'll be back for the first time since 2007! Now I just have to get through my last final project before going.
I'd like the second the huge thanks to Colleen (+team) for being so accommodating and helping us out with all of our questions and concerns.
1687 is stoked and our robot sue is (finally) fully function-able in the qualifications rookie drivers will be on the robot but were bringing back the other drive team for elimination.
(we are bringing the ban saw again :D )

This will be my first BattleCry, and the team list definitely promises some hot matches! We've got some of the best teams that competed at Boston, GSR, WPI and CT this year coming to BC13, and I can definitely see the coveted double triple being a possibility during elims.
See you on the field on Friday!

I hope everyone is excited for the team party on Friday! We've been working on making sure it is a blast for everyone involved.
Also, I'd like to put in a shameless plug for Andy Grady's $100,000* FIRST Pyramid game show. Andy has put a tremendous amount of work into the game this year, and it looks like it will be a blast! My only regret is that I won't be able to watch the festivities myself. If you'll be there, come on up to the third floor of the Campus Center to watch the show, or to play yourself.
Note: Not actually $100,000, but you will get raffle tickets.

It's nice to see people are as excited as me! (Ellen, I'm not on your team, but I don't know if you can beat my level of excitement :P)
Also, I will be your humble ice-cream server for the social, so please come by to say hi!
I'm an alum from California, and I'm looking forward to seeing how offseason works out here on the east coast :) Come and say hi! I'll be with 558

Are you coming out our direction for college?
As a general notice, I recorded the CT regional and I haven't had the time or expertise to parse/upload the videos. If someone is willing to cut the videos up I will bring my external hard drive to WPI and you can transfer the 7gb. I have everything but Friday morning! :o
There will be a NEMO meeting on Saturday from 10am to noon in the Mid-Century Room at the Campus Center. Open to all adult mentors!

Find me with 1124 (ask for Phil), and I'll gladly take and split some of the video. I PM'd you.

Yep, I go to Yale majoring in MechE. I started working with 558 this year, but didnt get as much time as I hoped. I went to NYC regional week 3, and was going to come to CT regional, but ended up not being able to go :( Looking forward to meeting some people this weekend!

Will BC be tweeting the match results or posting them anywhere? I'll be at a wedding in Virginia for most of the competition, but I would love to keep up.

We will post a link to match results and standings on the front page of the BC site as soon as stuff is up and running tomorrow night or Friday morning. We are using the regular FIRST system, so whatever it provides, teams will get!

Since it's a full FRC field, FMS will be tweeting every match to @FRCFMS

I haven't seen it advertised, but the BC 13 BattleCry@WPI webcast appears to be live at http://www.wpi.edu/news/Events/BattleCry/webcast.html
Due to traveling to Carnegie Mellon University for graduation ceremonies this weekend, I can't be at BattleCry this year, but I'll be trying to stay in touch remotely with how Mechanical Mayhem and other teams are doing...

I don't know how to get a standard link to it. I have found that it has worked from the Windows 7 computers I have tried, but not the Windows XP ones. Seems to want a very recent version of Windows Media Player.

We had a blast! Thanks to our alliance partners 1735 and 157 for some awesome matches. We ended on a really high key. Can't wait for next year!
Oh, I forgot to return 1100's sharpie I stole to get teams to sign a ball we left in our cannon from the field

What a weekend!
A huge thank you to WPI, Solidworks, & National Grid for making this event possible and flawless! Thank you to all the volunteers as well and for all the hardwork and effort you put into this event!
A huge congratulations to 1519, 2168, & 125 for coming out of an intense 16 alliance elimination on top! You three worked so well together it was extremely hard to overcome your precise scoring, efficient ball feeding, and quick balancing! Job well done!
Another shout out to our neighbors 1058 for leading the number 11 alliance all the way to the finals with 175 & 716. You guys have been a true class act these past two seasons and our 2012 robot would not have been a possibility without the loaning your time and shop resources! Great job Pirates! #underdog
Thank you to team 176 for picking us and for 3451 for rounding out our alliance! Our robots worked extremely well together, never missing a balance and a wide range of trategies were implemented every match. I really hope we can team up again in the future, the dedication shown on and off the field was one I will truly remember. From alliance strategy to 3451's human player constantly practicing between matches it was sad that we had to bow out so soon! It was great to play with you guys and hopefully we can all get our robots back up to par! ::ouch::
The addition of the BC dots on the coopertition bridge was one of the best game adjustments I have seen over the years! I loved the King of the Hill strategies that played out in the eliminations that held several matches to very close margins!
Our students had a great time attending their first BC and we are looking forward to seeing most of you in a few weeks in Merrimack! :)

Team 1124 and I had a great time this weekend - I can't believe it's been so long since we last went to BC. We're definitely going to do everything in our power to come back next year. That's to 2648 and 663 for being great partners, sorry it had to end the way it did.

I'd like to second this - it added so much to the game play and made the elimination matches even more exciting. I loved watching the BC dot strategies play out.
Also, a huge thank you to Andy and Jess for hosting the Friday night game show, it was awesome!

I agree wholeheartedly... I have a really good quote on facebook from that last round, "I'd like you guys to co-opertate on me"... For those that weren't there, this statement was an attempt to get the other person to guess "Things that a bridge would say"
My statement would've been more like "I don't like to work on the field, but just to confuse the FTAs/CSAs, I'll work fine in practice mode in the pits"... wrong bridge? eh, still works...
Battlecry was pretty awesome :) I had a blast watching the #1 alliance. 125, 2168, and 1519 put up some high scores and were a pleasure to watch. The 16 alliance elimination was exciting.
I talked to quite a few teams yesterday and gots some pictures for the website I'm working on, becauserobots.org. I'll post the pictures I took for team members on http://becauserobots.org/thumbnails/ When I'm done processing them.

I would have thought they were trying to get me to guess "robot". I'd say something more along the lines of: "I like to reset during matches"

I'd like to repeat our intense gratitude to the entire crew that arranged this event. It's not only the best organized event of the *ahem* extended season, it is the most fun event. period.
Having the bbq and ice cream outside was a great improvement over last year, and the social-hour games seemed better organized too. I also have to admit we enjoyed the final outcome more than last year.
We were already wary of semi-finals, and when 190, 173, and 78 shot a 40-point autonomous , we all started to feel a little sick (wow, 190. just wow!).
That was a great event and we love you all.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but the bucket put us and the NU-TRONS together; in case you haven't heard, we two teams will be traveling to Indianapolis this summer. We hope to represent New England well.
Next up: Beantown!

Does anyone have match videos?
Also, congrats to 1519, 2168, and 125. A big thanks also goes out to our alliance partners, 175 and 716, for making such an improbable run possible. In addition, thanks to National Grid, Solidworks, and WPI for hosting such a great event!

This was my first Battlecry, and as everyone says... my first reaction was WOW. I have to admit I am COMPLETELY Exhausted!!! I didn't even volunteer (originally)... just came as Angry Eric's hairdresser/photographer, and somehow got roped into "official event photographer". The amazing BC volunteer staff put me to work getting photos of absolutely everything at the event. I took nearly 4,000 photos (thank goodness for 32GB cards!), and admittedly I'm fairly new to the DSLR world, so its going to take me a bit of time to process. I'm planning on posting all of the good ones, and will put together a longer "wrap video" in the upcoming weeks. I'll post both links here & on Eric's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/AngryEricFIRST). There are 90 photos up of Eric & the teams there, but I have a ton of good ones of teams & volunteers that I will get posted soon.
I am glad I got to help out, and it was fun to "play photographer", as I got to see all aspects of the event - setup, behind the scenes, on the field, in the stands, through the pits, above the pits, behind the drivers station, every part of the social, all the teams at the BBQ, smiles, frustration, and elation...
Thank you to Colleen and all the BC13 organizers, all of the volunteers & all of the amazing teams... I will definitely be back next year (with an equipment upgrade for sure!).

We had a fantastic time being alliance partners with you guys this past weekend! We have wanted to work with your team since Hartford and it was great we we're finally able to. The quality of your play and the way you battled for the BC points on the co-opertition bridge was beyond anything we could have hoped for.
All of this paired the great defence and balancing skills of 3451 made our alliance real contenders, it is a shame we were not able to go farther in the competition. You guys are a great team and we look forward to competing with you in the future.

I just wanted to give a huge thank you to the WPI staff and the volunteers who make this event possible.
Colleen runs an amazing event...what you see, and the amazing atmosphere is in no small part to her endless dedication to the program and WPI.
A huge thank you to to Francis O'Rourke "The Director of Fun". He worked extremely hard on the events for Friday night, which in my opinion are a huge part of why Battlecry is the best FIRST event you can attend in a year. What people don't know is that Francis played a huge part in the construction of the screen graphics for the Pyramid game show. Without him, Pyramid would not have been such a huge success. Thank you Francis!
To Mark, Angry Eric, and Ron Partridge, a big thank you for being such great people to work with through the event. You all know how to put on a great show.
Also a big congrats to the alliance of 1519, 2168, and 125 for winning the event. Speaking of 2168...I hope that the teams at IRI don't underestimate them, that would end up being a huge mistake!
See you all next year! It was an amazing time.

So I finally got through organizing and editing all of my Battlecry photos & set up my Flickr account! I will eventually do some more work tagging teams for easy sorting & viewing, but for now, here are all the photos I have posted (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kimsrobot/sets/72157629967625618/)!
Also, if you are looking for more photos of your team or robot, let me know, I only selected 1/10th of what I have, and can upload more if you are looking for particular teams or robots!
Enjoy!!
