Is anyone getting up to watch the Space X launch @4:55am Saturday May 19th? I happen to catch this interview (http://www.sciencefriday.com/segment/05/18/2012/on-eve-of-launch-spacex-head-talks-about-mission.html) with Elon Musk on NPR Science Friday! On NASA TV (http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/schedule.html) @3:30am. I plan on getting my family up to watch this, get some breakfast and go to Monty Madness! (http://www.montymadness.com/event-info/) This will be a perfect Saturday!!! Fathers Day early!!!
i'm looking forward to this, I will probably just catch the recorded event .
and hopefully the news media forgets about facebook IPO and tells people about this amazing event in Private space history.

It's going to be a great day indeed.
Except for being indoors at Monty when we're having such great weather...

My favorite part about this is that SpaceX and NASA have gotten way more educational oomph out of this than the Shuttle launches had in a long time. Sure CNN would cover a shuttle launch right as it was happening, and it was always on CSPAN, but people never really looked forward to it.
This Falcon 9 launch and the last one have managed to plaster themselves all over the news. Which is really really cool. I do feel a little for the SpaceX team though, this is a test flight and they have the eyes of a nation on their back.
