I've been looking around to generate my own GT2 5mm profiles. But haven't been able to find the equation to make a parametric model nor a generator. I use MasterCAM to make sprockets/gears pretty easily, but no dice on pulleys.

Does anyone know if one exists or has anyone made a parametric model/know where to find the equation to generate the profile?

Thanks!

Expired U.S. patent 4515577 (http://www.google.com/patents?id=qZE5AAAAEBAJ) might be what you're looking for. (See also http://www.sdp-si.com/D265/HTML/D265T016.html.)

Also try contacting Gates Rubber's Sales Engineering Department for specifications. (According to this (http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/cnc-machining/gates-gt-2-powergrip-cog-pulley-tooth-form-212646/), it may cost money, though.)

Maybe also look at this (http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?2,117184,117184) for more ideas.

Tristan, found those exact links when I was searching a few days ago. I emailed the Gates Rep for FIRST. I'll see what he says.

I also found a few programs that would do the profile, they just cost money :P

Thanks Man!
