This is an awesome piece of art and work and we are excited to have it in the IRI silent auction.

Bring your cash - this is a one of a kind guitar!

Very nice, wish I was going to IRI. What types of wood did you use for the build?

What parts are off the shelf and what did you attempt to machine custom?

I bought the kit from guitarbuilding.org and the body was a laminate of 3-4 hardwoods. The kit had all the holes milled and a rough outline of the body and a blank headstock. The paint is custom--done by our auto collision teacher and all the details are made from metal--there are no stickers applied. The IRI logo and swooshes on the head were laser cut by one of our sponsors,Bastian Solutions while the basketballs were done by Colors, Inc. on 0.020" aluminum and inset into the fret board and head stock. I will put together a description on who contributed--I started working on it around Christmas--it was a fun project to be involved in.

Dean Simmons and the Kamens should test it out on stage.

Autographs from the attending WFA winners or DSK might be a cool addition to the back of this guy... :)

Autographs from the attending WFA winners or DSK might be a cool addition to the back of this guy... :)This is a great idea. It will be easy to find at least eight WFA winners (http://themobius.wordpress.com/championship-wfa-winners/) at IRI this year -- possibly more.

Oh my lord, this is beautiful - it would look great on the wall next to my Strat. Wish I could be there to try and win it...

That is a piece of art right there. I'll be there, but I doubt I'll have enough money in my pocket to walk away with it.

I hear that Eddie Van Kamen (http://www.deansimmonsandthekamens.com/bio/eddie) is gonna play this guitar during the DSK gig on Friday night at IRI. You may want to wash it down after he's done.

1 Did this look as great in person as it did in the photos?

2 Did it get played at the concert?

3 Who was the lucky winner?

1. Better. It was awesome. Great details.
2. Yes. At the concert, and the National Anthem on Saturday morning.
3. Not sure.

I'm not sure who won it and for how much.....but I was pretty disappointed when I forgot about the ending of the auction.
I was willing to go to great lengths to get it along with another IRI yellow/black shirt.
Too busy preparing for the playoffs during that time.

I remember seeing this at IRI and wondering. Anyone know specifics of what components are on it? Pickups, bridge, tuners, etc?
