NASA and the EI

I remember this year that if a team won the EI, NASA would pay their entree fee to champs. I have a question concerning this. IF this happens again next year, if a team pre-registers for champs and then earns this award, would they get a refund for the money they paid? Is the money even due before that point?

Assuming it works like in years past, NASA pays the entry fee directly to FIRST. If you have already paid your entry fee to the CHP event, then you can request that FIRST refunds you the credit balance in your account.
