Position Overview: Applications Engineer

Reports to Andy Baker, President and Co-owner

Job Summary and Objectives:

Utilizing effective communication and design skills, this engineer focuses on fulfilling customer needs using AndyMark products. This role requires strong written and verbal skills in the creation of order specifications meeting customer requests. Also, they must create quality project estimates and utilize their past experience with AndyMark products to anticipate and address customer needs. This engineer will leverage AndyMark's existing products and design capability to introduce new products into the mobile and education robotics market.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:


Develop and manage small and large customer applications within the mobile, education, competition, and service robotics markets
Creates estimates and sales orders for customers
Assists AndyMark leadership with sales within the FIRST Robotics Competition market
Finds new customers and markets who are eager to use AndyMark products
Develops and creates curriculum for future AndyMark camps and classroom courses
Collaborates and assists the AndyMark marketing effort
Manages existing distribution channels and providers
Assists in product development and design
Utilizes key software tools to effectively work within design, sales and operations systems

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:


Must have previous experience using AndyMark products
Prefer to have an engineering or engineering technology degree
Must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Can easily learn and use key operations and design software
Must have timely, consistent, honest, courteous and effective customer service skills
Eager to follow directions while working independently
Able to be flexible and effective with time management skills
Must have ability to be detail-oriented while still understanding broad project scopes
Must be willing to relocate to the Kokomo, Indiana area
Past experience in FRC team participation and leadership is key

Compensation:

The person filling this job will be paid a salary (not commission) and be provided with a competitive benefits package.

Sparkies can apply. However, this position will require mechanical aptitude. A well-rounded, systems-thinking experienced FIRSTer would fill this position well.

We are looking to fill this position during the next 1-2 months, depending on how long the process takes. However, since we are a growing company, I am sure that we will have other positions open in the future.
