Yes this is year 3 of the Victor underwater test. It is encased in Acrylic resin with encapsulated glass dust to conduct heat. We test it once a year.

How well does the heat disperse in water? does it all stay around the Victor, or does it flow away from it?

I'm guessing it works off natural convection (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_convection).

Edit: The water probably dissipates the heat pretty well combined with the large surface area of the acrylic. I'm curious about that enclosure though, looks pretty darn cool.

That is how we see the heat dissipate!

I'll feel bad for that fish if the Victor ever shorts or overheats in one of these tests!

They are safe, not enough voltage and too much water
