Very nice job! Looked really powerful to get it to shoot as far as you did. The music in the background and the lights on the bottom made even cooler!

Nice cannon! On out t-shirt cannon we use the vex controllers instead of the joystick because it was more work moving it around. Good job!:)

We haven't measured explicitly, but I'm guessing the specs are in the ballpark of those posted on Team 254's website for Shockwave (http://team254.com/shockwave/), which would make sense, since our cannon's pneumatic system was modeled heavily after theirs, and we consulted with them before proceeding with our design. They were very friendly in providing an overview of how their system worked and the part numbers of the critical pneumatic hardware they used. We use the same 1" NPT MAC solenoid valve they do - it's the blue beast in the lower left rear of the robot. Our primary regulator is set to 150 psi.

In addition to shirt range, I desperately want to find out how far and accurately it can shoot a golf ball, especially with an effective sabot design applied. In addition to the obvious promotional opportunities, many fundraising and new sponsor (the lexan on the robot is blank for a reason - "your logo here" :-P) opportunities present themselves to you when you have one of these robots at your disposal. I am also very pleased to have this robot on hand as an electrical/controls teaching aid, because the controls layout is wide-open, flat, with all wiring clearly visible.

Thanks, IKE. I like the overall look of the cannon mated to our 2010 drive base. I think it has a military hardware-type vibe to it.

The Breakaway drivetrain was not one of our finer decision-making moments in team history, but the public finds it interesting as part of this new robot. The 2010 bot is definitely better-suited to this new role.

We were given a prebuilt t-shirt cannon, so we did a quick and simple attachment (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=408962735822604&set=a.408961485822729.100086.350670611651817&type=3&theater) to our 2011 robot. If we had the skill we would try some sort of repeater like yours of 254. However, ours can fire above the stands at our football field at maximum, so we have power.

We are doing a very similar thing as well. We are taking our 2011 chassis with the A-frame to mount a t-shirt cannon. Should be interesting.

We use a SCUBA tank as a compressed air source. Please see www.team254.com/shockwave for more info - our pneumatic system is patterned after theirs.
