Who's ready?

Let the games begin!

Just to clarify....EST is Eastern Standard Time. Since we in Arizona are always on MST, and Mountain is two zones west of Eastern, does that mean registration starts at 10AM here? I thought ya'all were on Daylight Saving Time still?

It's too confusing for a mere mortal

Registration opens in 45 minutes if that helps.

Any thoughts about jumping the gun - if I'm already logged into the TIMS FRC dashboard screen at noon, will it bring up the registration screen when I go into team summary or will I need to get all the way out?

Mark McLeod

You should just have to refresh the screen for the link to appear.
Of course, with 2000 people pushing refresh all at the stroke of noon, our mileage may vary.
No need to exit all the way. The system will kick us out when it's had enough.

And 16 minutes into the registration process, BAE is full. *This* is why I am so grateful that we made it in. Team 1729 is looking forward to a great competition; we're happy you're going to be there along with a many other terrific teams!

I wonder how fast GSR fills up this year! Was full at 12:16 ET. However, I don't know why TIMS is only showing 23 open spots for a tournament that usually has 48-52 teams!?!?

We were waitlisted last year and only got in because our rookie team's school closed.

Great to see the Hawaiian kids coming to boiler.

I was very surprised by that too! Weren't their 40 open slots in previous years with the last 8-12 being filled by waitlisted/BAE teams?

Hopefuly GSR will be its normal, large self this year!

What is with the new "home event" only choice for Michigan Districts?

What is with the new "home event" only choice for Michigan Districts?

I believe this year the registration is now more like regionals for all district participating teams. There is 1st and 2nd district registration so that every team can at least attend their home district before selection of another district.

Kind of surprised that only 1134 teams have registered for a regional at this time (over 1000 less teams then the total number of teams last year), do teams usually wait to sign up for their first regional?

Probably leaving some spots for when 2nd event registration opens as well? Just a guess. Lots of regionals do this.

Hey CD,
I was wondering how many wait list teams attended champs last year?

Thanks,

Rookies often receive priority on the wait list. By holding a few spots from the initial registration period, FIRST creates a wait list and can give rookie teams preference within the group of teams on the wait list.
