Getting the same message over in Kansas too. Hopefully it's getting resolved soon; can't wait to register for events!

It wouldn't be sign up day without TIMS being underpowered!

Really, FIRST, with all the resources you have, you can't upgrade your web servers? You know this happens every year!

Wow...this is getting worse, not better

Maybe I'll withhold shipment of the Delphi donated parts until I get the event I want.... :)

EDIT - that worked. I'm in now. Don't mess with the 6 AWG wire dude.

Yup. Same here. Internal Server Error

wonder how long it'll take to get the "we're sorry for the problems.. try again tomorrow" email...

Jimmy Nichols

same here, emailed frcteams and got the standard high volume of traffic email. They should learn to expect this on this day and time and be prepared.

I kept hitting refresh and got in to Crossroads.

Seems to be humming along now. I just kept refreshing every couple of seconds and managed to be one of the first three to register.

We got through. Just keep calm and refresh

Got through for Bridgewater District, but the list of events pages seems to be down, giving the internal server error.

I must admit I've never seen such a wide assortment of error messages, while trying to complete one task.

Wow! Granite State Regional was full at 12:21 EST.

And of course, the GSR is waitlisted. Ridiculous.

I can't even get logged in, much less registered.

Got same message, but kept hitting refresh / resend and after 8 minutes received confirmation; RAGE FRC-173 is going to WPI. :yikes:

Team 48 is in at Crossroads.

1640 is just in at Hatboro-Horsham (MAR). Logged in at noon, too...

1153 squeezed into Boston, at 20 after noon! Space for one more team.

Okay, maybe I'm reading it wrong. "Open capacity" means how many more teams can go in? Not the total capacity?

I am questioning why New Hampshire only let 23 teams register?
Maybe they split the registration in half, so second registration has a chance at it? Boston was full at first registration last year, and it was only a last minute (hours before Kickoff) save we got in.

Mr MOE
27-09-2012, 12:50
MOE 365 got into Hatboro-Horsham MAR District at about 12:20pm.

Same deal. Logged in before noon. Got kicked out at about 11:58am. Got back in to register after constant refreshes at about 12:18pm.

Messy. Messy. Messy.

Good luck to everyone else. It's almost 1pm EST, so hopefully teams have not been battling this system since noon!

There must be a better solution to the registration problem than what we are doing. It took me a half hour to get through and register for LA. (I was actually logged off due to inactivity while the service was unavailable!) In that time, at least 3 regionals filled up.

We all say "this happens every year" and "it all works out", but there must be a better way to avoid the stress and frustration.

For many teams, the regional selection is not simply preference - it is a matter of a "home regional" vs. an "away" regional - a difference in cost of many thousands of dollars - far more than any registration fees or the cost of building a robot...

We all know it is only going to get worse when it comes to 2nd regional registration and Championship waitlist registration.

Is there really no better way to do this?

Every year it is the same deal and I haven't quite figured it out yet. I had Jake from our team try to register and he was getting the same errors, I loggin in from another location and breezed through with no delays......... There has to be some sort of magical trick to this that somebody has figured out and is not sharing................

Oh and Wave is registered for Northern Lights!

190 stands out as the only GTR West registrant so far. One american team will be there, at least.

Easterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Jimmy Nichols

Why are they listing fewer available spots than before registeration started. QCR is listed at 10 teams with 38 open = 48, but our open capacity was 50. Crossroads lost 2 spots as well.

Did FIRST at last minute decide to pull 2 more reserved spots?

You think 2nd regional registration will be even worse? Yikes

Anyone know when that is, or did they not share that date yet?

I had the same experience of a long series of various error messages, then after a half hour or so it went smoothly thru the process.

Probably because most of the GTA teams are preferentially choosing the smaller Waterloo and GTREast regionals for their first regional. Capacity at GTRWest is much higher. They know that they'll get into GTRWest if they want to go.

188, 610, 1114, 1310, and 2056 are all registered at Waterloo! This should be interesting.
