Hi guys,
Tomorrow is the big day. The Israel Off-Season 2012 will take place with about 17 teams. As mentioned before, it will be the kickoff for the FRC Live Online project

The target of the project is to give everybody the opportunity to be updated with the latest news from the field - the special matches, results, alliances, awards and most important - the spirit. Everything will be done through a special facebook page, where people from each regional will join the page's team and will report live to the world - all you need is a smartphone and an internet connection to write and upload something from time to time.

That way, the most important news will reach everyone and will make the regionals-following much easier and fun.

After the competition tomorrow, I will see how the project should work like, and people will be asked to join the FLO team so they will keep everyone updated with news from their own regional.

The project's page (Don't forget to press like!):

Stupid question from someone who hadn't heard of this until just now:
This seems like a great idea, especially for something like the off-season. But how's it going to work with bunches of people all posting information from different events on the same wall at the same time? I'd love a centralized place to get some of this information, but is there going to be a standardized way to keep is separate or parse it during simultaneous events?

Yes. All the people who will take part in the project will post as FRC Live Online and not with their own identity, otherwise it will appear as "Recent posts by others" and not on the main wall (where stuff appear to others on the news feed).
In addition, every event already has a two or three letter code, mostly as the state code where the regional takes place (TX for Lone Star, IS for Israel and so on), so every post will start with an identification so whoever will see it will know where it is reported from :)

Regional codes for 2013 have been updated. They can be found here. (http://frclinks.frclinks.com/) Scroll down to the bottom.

TXHO for Lone Star, ISTA for Israel.
