yep, they awarded him a grand second place metal one of the alumni had gotten blood on the strap of after cutting his finger on robot-parts. that was one nasty wound.

FIRST Hazing: Submitting all newcomers to 3 consecutive speeches by Dean Kamen. On the bright side, since he made it through 2 he got a silver medal.

For showing presidential interest in FIRST robotics, I would say Mr. Peres deserves his red Engineering Inspiration medal. Maybe he can inspire even more of his countrymen and women to become engineers.
