I see this on both Vexrobotics' site, and on the ads here on ChiefDelphi.

Anybody know if this is referring to the impending release of the Victor 888's or something else? (Perhaps an FRC-sized VEX competition?)

I've been really curious about this as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with the removal of IFI Wheels and sprockets from the vexpro store. Could a new line be launching soon?

I posted a thread identical to this one on vexforum.com, and everyone thought i was crazy. It seems like something big is coming - the same ad is displayed on the vexpro page.

Although I have no information whatsoever, Karthik mentioned to wait a few weeks about a few weeks ago. I wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement coming soon guys.

Looks like Vexrobotics.com is down right now and is being updated. Bet we are going to find out whatever they mean pretty soon.

Interesting. isup.me shows Vex up, so I would assume the greeting page is an actual page they created. I wonder what they have coming?

Vex Robotics being down is a little less helpful of you are trying to buy parts for your robot.:ahh:

Anyway, it will be cool to see what is coming...

That would be a game changer, and it would give team an opportunity to get a "full scale robot experience" at a much lower price point given the embedded system on VEX is much cheaper than the one on FRC.

For teams that got their "budget" slashed this year, VEX could be an alternative, very interesting timing on this announcement.

Cheers,
Mark.

The update is a collection of new items to buy for FRC

My jaw dropped to the floor with the selection and prices! It is absolutely amazing. Perhaps this is the first phase of Karthik's evil plan to rule the (robotics) world?

Ought to be really interesting to see how AndyMark responds to this serious competition.

The COTS FRC parts market looks to have heated up in a big bad way this year, with 2 (kind of 3) new motor controllers at 60% of previous prices, plus a whole slew of new VEXpro drivetrain components at prices about 50% of the price of comparable AndyMark products we all know and love.

I'm not sure yet if it will be a good thing. Competition drives prices down, and selection makes for more cost-effective choices for teams to make, but I can't help but wonder if these companies might be fighting so hard over our collective nickel that they might run their margins so low trying to out-do the other that they both end up in trouble.

I really wish these suppliers would offer USPS priority as a shipping option. It seems that we almost pay more in shipping than we do for the parts. The USPS Priority flat rate boxes are nice as they are the same price up to certain weights and most parts will fit into the smaller boxes which are more cost effective than the options currently offered.
