Everyone check out this video and look for two FRC robots.

Tell me what you think.
Saw them at the end, can't miss those flashing orange lights! Very cool! How did this get arranged?

I don't exactly know how it got arranged, but my mentor arranged it. It is extremely cool.

Beat ya to it. (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109686) ;) Mods, can we get a thread merge?
An interesting statistic is that it took 8 hours to film the last 15 seconds of the commercial. It was quite a large production.

Any pictures from the filming?

Alright, I've played that video about 15 times and I still can't find them (even with the flashing lights). What's the timecode on it, for those of us with a severe case of Apparent Robot Blindness?

Nearest I can tell, at 0:48, the robot in the light from the opening doors; at 0:52, to the left of and behind the guy from Star Trek.

At 0:47, 2012 robot in the bottom left and 2011 robot barely visible in the top left.
At 0:52, 2012 robot to the right of the Star Trek guy
At 0:54 2011 on the left with the orange light

I think you and I may be the only two on this forum who don't know the name of the Star Trek guy. High five!

Not quite :P

I think Alan Anderson just threw up a little.

The name of the droid is Lieutenant Commander Data

I think Alan Anderson just threw up a little.
I'd rather be well-known for what I do, not for a caricature of something that I'm not even all that excited about.
I saw one orange flashy light apparently showing "waiting for connection", but I couldn't recognize a FRC robot holding it. The darkness at the end of the video makes it very hard to see anything. I just barely recognized the "Star Trek guy" as Data, and only because of about three frames of a distinctive robotic head motion just as the teleporter effect fades out.

Another interesting note is that the guy who drove our 2011 robot for this commercial was one of the builders of the original Johnny 5 robots in the movie Short Circuit.

Okay, I must know. Was it actually Brent Spiner there as Data? (or, as it would seem, more affectionately referred to in this thread as "The Star Trek Guy") Because that would be amazing, although I doubt it was actually him. (sorry, geek moment  )

For a second, I was afraid it was going to be a different Look-I'm-in-a-commercial! (http://www.dvdizzy.com/images/m-p/monsters13.jpg) moment. ;)
But now that I know where to look, I can make out some FRC-robot-shaped robots. Good job!

For me, the bad part about doing this commercial is that after seeing it up close in person, now I absolutely must have a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, outfitted as a full KITT replica.
