4-H FIRST Teams Mapping Help

Hi Guys! I'm interested in seeing where 4-H FIRST Teams are located at throughout the US. I have worked with the National 4-H Council on several projects and am planning on sharing this map with them. I can't wait to see where you guys are all from!
The first step is collecting data. I plan on doing this until the end of January. Once I've completed that, I plan on turning your data into an interactive map!

ALL FIRST programs count! You can select FLL under "Challenges" (which I plan to re-name "programs" now that I've thought about it). Thanks for asking! WOW! Your county has 10 FLL teams!?!? Great to see that! My county had 2 this year :)

Sorry this is so late but if you go to WITWIF (Where In The World Is FIRST?) and use the search options you can map any team that has 4-H in their sponsors list or name. You will have to search a few times to get everything because some teams have 4-H in their name others just list it in their sponsors. Also, some list as 4-H and some as 4H.

FIRST Team 4106 is not a 4-H team any more. We have moved to being an Explorer Post so I am afraid we don't count anymore as a 4-H team.

Exploring fit our mission goals better for what we want to do as a team.

We were late in updating our demographics that are pulled into those other tools.

straight out of curiosity. what are 4-h teams?


It's a national organization somewhat (though not really) similar to the Boy Scouts except it's more focused agricultural/environmental type things at a county level. A lot of 4-H branches sponsor one or more FIRST teams and it can be a lot more viable for rural areas than trying to set one up in a school. For instance, my team is 4-H, and because of this we can draw from all over the entire county rather than just one or two schools. It also allows a lot more independence and flexibility than being hooked in with the public school system does.

Agreed! I sent it to the National STEM guy at the USDA, so hopefully he'll share it around :) Would be nice to do one for like FTC/FLL, but I think that'd be a bit difficult since there isn't the list out there

It would be really awesome if FIRST required teams to pick an organization type (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, School, ... etc) to help organizations know teams.
