So im trying to update to the current LabView runtime engine to run driver station, cRIO imager, etc. and ive downloaded the RTE from this link

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/3435/lang/en

and im currently using a Windows 7 Home Premium Computer.

but when i run the installer, i replace everything, install, it prompts for reboot, i reboot, but if I try to run any LabView program it still says that it doesnt detect a LabView RTE :(

If i run the installer again, it says that everything is loaded on and asks if im prompting for an uninstall... so the installer knows its there but the programs cant find it. Help?

Did you download the 64 bit edition? All of the FRC tools are 32 bit.

Try this one http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/3433/lang/en instead.

i see i see. apparently im the only one in my programmer group with a 64-bit laptop -_-

working great, thanks!

(i thought i tried x32 before, but I think that was 2011 RTE on acci)

e/ All FRC tools keep giving me an error about a missing nivision.dll and a few other dlls

If you are missing vision, be sure to install the Utilities update if using other languages, or the LabVIEW update if you are using LabVIEW.

Which LabVIEW programs are you trying to run? Do the Driver station or Imaging tool run? Can you post some screenshots of the error you are seeing? Is it possible you are running an older LabVIEW application that would need the older run-time?

Nevermind, a friend helped me fix it, thanks!

(for future reference, i was missing the NI System Configuration Runtime)

Just for curiosity sake, why aren't you just installing the FRC version of LabVIEW?
You seem to be piecemealing from online instead.

I'd suggest doing a clean uninstall/install.
Everything needed is on the KOP stick, the FRC LabVIEW, Utilites, Driver Station updates.

The older KOP version license is expiring.
The LabVIEW versions are different anyway.

Uninstall previous versions of LabVIEW, and then install the 2013 system in the following order:
0. LabVIEW 2012 (on the CD in the envelope from the KOP)
1. FRC LabVIEW update for 2013
2. FRC Utilities Update
3. Driver Station Update
You can find the Utilities update, and the other updates, here (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2262/lang/en). The USB drive from last year had LabVIEW 2011, not 2012, so it won't be compatible.

Done (kinda... utilities update has no uninstall option) and it still didnt work.

I noticed a desktop icon : "Setup Axis Camera" but when i click on it, it gives me the old runtime error that theres no runtime (except its saying 2011 not 2012...) (i can run everything else fine with nivision.dll errors like drivestation and crio flasher)
