Yesterday we attempted to wire up the DAP 1522 Rev B. We hooked it up exactly how it says to in WPI's website (http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/3120/m/8559/l/92626-wiring-the-2013-frc-control-system). The problem is that when we power on the robot, the "power" light on the wireless bridge is blue for about a quarter of a second, then immediately turns red, and the radio does not function. We tested the voltage output to the radio and it seems to be about 4.9 - 5.3 volts.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
Might it be that we have a defective radio? If so, can we use an old radio for now? How do you deal with a defective product being in the KoP?

how is the radio being powered? Is it powered from the regulated output, through the DC-DC converter?

You can use an old radio for now (if you know how to set it up, but you may have the same exact problem). There is a process for managing defective KoP parts, but the deadline may have passed for that. Go to the FIRST website, FRC, and Kit Of Parts Home for more information.
Based on your description, it doesn't sound as though you have the radio polarity reversed, but check it just to be sure.
If you have a defective part, the deadline is Sunday to report it. Any radio will work for testing, you only need the exact model D-Link on the field.

Just confirming that we had the same problem earlier, but our 1522reb is stuck in bridge mode now.

Duffany1 my team 3179 is also experiencing the same exact problem and i don't believe its from a defected part. ::ouch:: For we have tried several of our Ds and we get the same exact result.
The power light for the D-Link will light up to a light blue for about one second, then the power light will turn red. We have the D-Link is set to "AP 2.4 GHz" mode.
You may want to contact DLink support to address this problem. Alternatively, you can go through the replacement parts process (http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/kit-of-parts-replacement-parts-process).
@Sam and Mr.Trips, is your power supply wired per the directions that Brandon (duffany1) linked to?
Another possibility: Have you updated to firmware rev 2.03?
What problems do you encounter trying to operate the DAP when its power light is red?

Guys, we solved the problem. We plugged the bridge into a computer (not the cRIO) and configured it with the new 2013 bridge configuration tool. (We also inserted the disc labeled "Start Here," though we're not sure if that actually did anything.)
Thanks!

We were using the plug-in-the-wall that came with the box.
