Where is the best place to find a cost effective worm drive? I'm looking for something that costs about $200 or less preferably and has a 15:1 ratio. The input will most likely be 2 CIMs. Any thoughts? I've googled for a while and rino came up (now ondrives) but the boxes are still pretty pricey. Is the only option to cough it up? I know I could build one with gears from mcmaster or such places but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Andymark sells a worm gearbox, I think it is a bit of a higher reduction than what you want, but you could always speed it up in sprocket size.

Andymark sells the Wormbox, which is a 16:1 reduction, and costs $120.

The wormbox is out of stock unfortunately. Otherwise I would be on board with that.

Look at SDP-SI. They sell all kinds of gears and pulleys. You should be able to find a worm gear and matching spur gear there that will fit your needs.

The gears, bearings, and shafts are in stock.

The above thread has a good link. I haven't used it but the gears look the same as the ones in the Andymark Wormbox.
