Just in case anyone is curious, Battlebots new series will begin airing on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:30pm, right after Southpark. I for one can't wait =)

I'm looking forward to the Battlebots series also... for a few reasons:
1. It will be cool to see battling robots.
2. If this takes off and gets very popular, then the TV networks will start looking for other robotic competitions to show on TV... that's where FIRST comes in.

In my opinion, I see Battlebots 'blazing the trail' with TV coverage, and we may be close behind.

Personally, I don't really like battle bots. It is kinda like the 'WWF' of robotic competitions. I for one have been asked on numerous occasions 'oh, so you guys do that thing where you build the robots and destroy each other?' I find this almost offensive, for while battle bots is DEFINITELY very creative and requires good engineering skill, I don't think that anyone can argue that it is almost exactly opposite of the FIRST spirit of 'gracious proffesionalism'. Also, I think that it says something about the general USA public that they would rather see robots bash into each other and destroy than cooperate in creative competitions. Well, just voicing my oppinion.
