When I startup my Labview and choose new project, what template do I choose?:o

that isnt an option, here are my options:
Blank Project
Blank VI
Simple Slate Machine
Queued Message Handler
Actor Framework
Finite Measurement
continuous measurement and logging
feedback evaporative cooler
instrument driver project
labview FPGA control on compact rio
Labview FPGA Project
labview waveform and aqquisition and logging
labview realtime control
robotics project
which is it?

I've never had something similar to those options before, but if anything it's because I would assume you didn't update your labview and driverstation with the updates located here.

That means you haven't installed everything you need for FRC.

The Kit DVD was just the start.

LabVIEW Utilities Update (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2262) (required for all Teams)

this what my startup looks like, is this normal?

That's not the FRC startup window.

Go to Tools -> Choose Environment
then you should get the choice shown in the first attachment below.
Pick LabVIEW for FRC and click the box to Make this my default setting, then Apply.


We normally see the second attachment:

i click on the shortcut, Labview 2012. it sais launch labview, i click. the page i posted comes up

Did you install the FRC LabVIEW updates linked in the earlier posts?

Does Tools -> Choose Environment show you any choice other than LabVIEW?

wait, its looking normal now, it just didnt register the updates, i installed them like 30 seconds ago

Under New use FRC cRIO Robot Project to start with new robot code.
Use FRC Dashboard Project if you want to start modifying the default Dashboard.
