4 other teammates and I (25% of our team) play LoL together almost every day after school/robotics. Surely there are some other FRC summoners out there! :D So if youre as obsessed as we are, lets talk!

What do you play? WHO do you play? etc

I'm currently 1200 elo (though I'm gonna work a lot on that with the new ranked system!) but I also play with friends 1700-2100 elo. I main the jungle and my favorite champion, hands-down, no contest, is the almighty TRUNDLE. Love him.
I also jungle Sejuani, Vi, Shaco, Maokai, Tryndamere, Jarvan IV, Fizz, Twitch, Eve, Kha'Zix, and Kayle. (in that order of importance)

Dont worry about being a newer player :) One of the guys on our FRC team is only summoner lvl 21, and he's been using exp boosts the whole way lol. If we get enough replies to this thread I'll try to organize something, but I'll make sure it wont matter how new you are to the game!

Also: JUNGLE MISS FORTUNE. It works, people. First time playing her (since she's free this week) and I went 10/7/11 with about half my deaths being easily avoidable (you know how it is when youre with friends in skype and youre up by 20+ kills). Even have the replay. This is glorious...

oh whatever then! I don't follow the esports all THAT much, but I back the team Pulse eSports :D My friend is friends with them, so I've managed to play with 2 or 3 of them in normal queue and as a ranked 5s. Playing with 2k+ elo players is a really cool experience!

Teams should have at least three (a majority) FRC members from the same team, and represent that team. Five of us on 1538 would be willing to play in a tournament.

Well, my team only has 2 players, but we have friends who used to be on the team that play. They just got caught up in too much other stuff to do. We also have one friend who is trying to play, who is on the team, but is having problems getting it to work on his computer. He would be a low lvl if we had a tourney.

A friendly tournament?! I'm pretty sure I could convince my friends to agree to something like that. We oftentimes will have little 3v3 or 4v4 skirmishes between each other to practice.

That'll work fine. It's not a huge deal to list elo/division, I'm just gonna use that to try and make the placements on the brackets as fair as possible (assuming we have enough teams for double elim)

From what I remember, he built a Wriggles, Berserker's Greaves, and an Iceborn Gauntlet. He won that game with a good KDR. (Something like 8-3-11).
Also, Soraka mid. Have double mr in your runes, spam q, and silence their AP--win lane.

Jungle blitz have really slow clear times and, if counter-jungled often (by a Shyvana), is pretty much... useless. It honestly only works great if you build support like, and the bot lane is a kill lane. He's only good with ganks--IF he lands his pulls. I'm not much of a jungler, more of an apc, but I play all roles, and I've played against, and with a jungle blitz. It's either really effective or really useless.
Also, Leona AP. My friend went mid with Leona; bought 2 doran's rings, then got a sheen. Gg. Went against a Ziggs--won lane. :D

Any time after 4pm PST (7pm EST) works for my team on Saturdays. Sunday might work, but would be a bit difficult. The only stipulation is that if competition starts during this tournament well...I think you get the idea of which will take priority.

I also just started playing an adc Twisted Fate, and it works really well. His gate alows you to gank mid SUPER easy, and his "Pick a Card" and "Stacked Deck" work really well for dominating a lane.

Update: we've collected 7 teams. There are probably enough people who want to play but don't have a team to band together and make an 8th team.

As stated earlier: we will have a round robin bo1 series for seeding (seeding ties will be broken by head to head record first, then randomizer) followed by bo3 single elims. The sooner we get an 8th team the sooner we can start scheduling!

EDIT: I'm also considering adding a $50 RP prize for the winner.

I also just started playing an adc Twisted Fate, and it works really well. His gate alows you to gank mid SUPER easy, and his "Pick a Card" and "Stacked Deck" work really well for dominating a lane.

Awww yes, this was a while ago, back when I had still not hit 30.

I used to play a decent adc TF, but after a few nerfs (I cannot site which ones) it lost its viability. He is now one of my main midlaners, and I play him AP all day. (just got his underworld skin :cool: ).

I do not play Veigar as much, but I have gotten decent as him since I bought the skin. I used to be terrible.

As I only started playing last week, my level isn't very high (11) but I play practically every day and my favorite champion is Graves. I usually go bottom lane but I can go mid as well. As I know Graves is a slow character, my stats usually aren't great, but he really packs a punch against structures.

I would be down. I follow pro play a whole lot (Bjergsen on TSM=life complete), so solo-que frustrates me. My position is mid (Zed, TF (AP),Veigar, Xerath) but I can go top just fine (Jax, Nasus, Trynd, Irelia, Shen). In terms of adc, I am only good with one, and that is Ezreal. I wreck with Ez, but he is the only adc I am good at. I play an alright Cait and a mediocre Vayne, and kind of decent with Ashe (got better with her after watching C9 in the summer split), but Ez is my only REALLY good adc. I am not very good at supp, as my only good one is Blitz, who ALWAYS gets banned. Jungling, I am terrible. My ganks are trash. Don't let me jungle. I have Lee Sin and Evelyn (the latter being my better champ) for jungle.

I will end this season Bronze II, and would like to hit Silver next season. Count me in.

Edit:: And yeah, by "follow pro play" I mean that instead of watching baseball in the summer, I watch the summer split for NA and EU. It is the closest thing I have to a "second favorite sport," the FIRST one being, well... you get the idea. (In the spring I am too busy with some OTHER obsession :rolleyes: to pay attention as much, but will sometimes catch a few games.)

I didn't start climbing until I played a carry position like mid and only played champions that carry really hard when fed. You basically have to win lane hard enough every game that your are fed almost every game. Then once laning phase is over you need to make sure you group as 5. If you don't do that especially in low elo, then your team or yourself is likely to get caught out and die. As 5 push objectives like dragon or mid. Objectives are the key to winning so if you win a 5v5 teamfight and their tank is left running away then not everyone should chase him and instead use the time to push a tower or baron. Your team won't know this so it is up to you to make sure this information is relayed to them and that they follow it. You won't win every game but you will win more than you lose playing this game.

I'm an ADC main, but I've started playing bruiser lanes (top or jungle) and found myself able to take out enemies or peel for my teammates. Basically trying to cover my team's weaknesses has given me a 66% winrate recently.

Also, out CSing the enemy throughout the entire match helps quite a bit. I've carried games as Caitlyn being 0/4 but with 300 CS by 35 minutes.

Also, never waste any time. If you're not in lane, you should either be farming jungle, at shop, or roaming effectively. Not hesitating in between two lanes.

Telling your team what to do can be helpful. If nobody is communicating, get them to focus on securing objectives or picking off enemies. Try to master enough champions in each role to be able to choose someone that fits in with your team's composition in champion select (teammate picked Ori? maybe Malphite would be good). Watch streamers play and take mental notes. Learn when and when not to splitpush.

First off, my IGN is Ayukura. I'm currently Platinum and I started playing the end of season 2. Feel free to add me!

People can climb ELO "fast" because they are generally better than the people they are matched up with/against and can carry their team. But, that doesn't necessarily mean to just get tons of kills and farm. When you play ranked for an extended period of time, you must be consistent. Ranked often puts players on tilt, and if you find that you're playing more emotionally rather than logically, I would take a break. You should always approach ranked with a clear mind; it is never good to play right after a loss and see the enemy team get first blood. Mindset has a lot to do with your gameplay. By keeping a positive attitude to the game, you can also keep a positive attitude toward your teammates. Let's face it: your teammates have a partial role in whether or not you win the game. They are humans, and they are also susceptible to tilt. I have won games simply by trying to keep everyone level-headed--for instance, when the enemy team's Ashe was legendary and our grouping didn't work because our LeBlanc quit, I suggested our AD Nidalee to split push. Suprisingly, they ignored Nidalee, and while they were at our inner turret, Nid was getting inhibitor. We won that game. So, before even worrying about your cs or warding, I would suggest worrying about your teammates and how you feel about the game. Gbay99 further speaks of the problems with mindset and League. I looked at your lolking page in regards to your performance in Season 3. Your main problem would be that you die too much! 1/11 on Kat and Ashe isn't very good. Being dead affects your whole game: You miss out on cs, you miss out on a dragon, you miss out on a teamfight, etc. Handing the enemy team 300 gold isn't very helpful either. In lane, it is especially important you do not die. Shurelia actually gives out a good Zoning Tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kxGQ3gWdrM) that may help you. I believe your second problem would be that you don't focus enough on farming! Even if you and your lane opponent are 0/0, having more cs will give you an advantage. Roughly 13 cs is equal to a kill. Perhaps that puts into perspective how vital it is to farm. Averaging 31cs on Eve isn't very good however: in lanes, you should focus on having the bare minimum of 50cs at 10 minutes. It's better if you get ~70cs. As you overcome these problems, I can almost guarantee you'll see yourself climbing the ladders.

Well I have been playing LoL for about 2.5-3 yrs never really cracked ranked due to never finding anyone to play with that did not argue or fight over heroes. I usually main Ziggs and also adc with Cait or Quinn (can't beat the mark) and run top lane with darius or Aatrox. I also am love to jungle with Amumu due to the crowd control :P. Cycling back into ranked now, and feeling good so far. I am maining Ezreal (one of my favorite Champs) and the role adc. I am 3/3 in promos, and overall not dying nearly as much as before (yay.) I mostly duo with Djinn74, and am finally comfortable in my games. I think I was overconfident in my mid ability, and tried to pick champs that were OP and meta, as opposed to comfort pick. So, I never got around to playing league with any FIRSTers. I also managed to get better at league, moving up to silver 5, still gaining 25+LP per win (I just do not play much ranked). Thank to the advice here, I farm better and die less, both being good things.

How is everyone looking to end the season? I feel that if I tried, I could get to maybe silver 3 or 2, and if I went full try hard, I might be able to hit gold. (I am not much one for going full tryhard on anything other than robots though)

Does anyone want to start an FRC League Tournament?

Each robotics team could have a League team consisting of at least 5 members, all of who must be associated with the team (students, mentors, or alumni). Once you have got at least 5 players, create your team. The league team name should be named the same as your FRC team name and the tag will be your team's number. For example, I am a part of team 3309, the Friarbots, so my team name is Friarbots with the tag [3309]. Exclude the word "the" unless it is a part of your team's name. For clarification, my team is referred to as the Friarbots, but our team name is Friarbots, so the league name is not called The Friarbots. Team 254, for example, would be The Cheesy Poofs [254] and not Cheesy Poofs because the "The" is a part of the team name.

We could organize different matches for different teams and keep track of the records. Each team will play one another twice, and those with the best records face off to advance to higher brackets. Everything is best of one until higher brackets.

The amount of League players in FRC must be enormous, because of the amount of times that Warriors-Imagine Dragons was (are as of right now) played during the FRC Top 25 release.
