Radio frequencies

For those of you who don't know, our school is hosting the Shoutheast Michigan Ford Sweet Repeat Invitational on October 7. However, to facilitate communication between those of us organizing the competition and running it, we were hoping to implement a wireless communication system of two-way radios or walkie talkies or something along those lines. Does anyone know what product(s) can be used? Our school already owns a pair of Motorola TalkAbout fr50 two-way radios, which aren't the best, but are cheap, so if these can be used, that would be the most convenient solution. Thanks.

The FRS radios work fairly well actually... we used some motorolas with some radio shack headsets... worked out fine....

I definitely agree with Jon that the FRS radios like what your school already has can be used...we used them at the WMRC for communications within our camera crews, without any interference problems. I would recommend scanning the robot frequencies while testing the FRS radios using the scanner that Innovation First supplies with the arena controllers, just to be safe...
