crowdfunding for robotics?

Was wondering if any team has tried crowdfunding on kickstarter or indiegogo as one way to fundraise. Seems like it could help a lot of FRC teams. thoughts? I recently launched a crowdfunding campaign (indiegogo.com/cellanyx) and thought, "wow, this platform would've been convenient back in the days..."
