This is our teams frisbee pickup design we are using this year. It works really well.

Great job, I like how steep of an angle the frisbee gets to, you can attain lots of height that way!

does it work with upside-down frisbees?
Looks simple and therefore effective!
Are you going to shoot, or dump?

That will probably dump it into a hopper of some sort. From there, it will probably go into their shooter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJeNdT9aOtM). But I could be wrong.

Nice! What is that orange strip made of? It's hard for me to tell. Also are you going to be mounting your motor where the drill was or are you going to do a pulley system or something else with the motor further down?

I assume you mean polycord or polyurethane belting, never heard it called polyweb before, but they sell it on mcmaster, just type in belting and do some searching and you should find some really good options under urethane belting.
This design can not pick up upside down frisbees, we are talking about some sort of sensor to spit them back out. The polycord is from mcMaster here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71221) is some more info on it very cool stuff to work with. How many other teams are looking to pick up from the ground?

My guess is that upside down frisbees work even better. At least, in my experience they seem to...
This really inspired me. Thanks a lot for posting. Any other details you care to share greatly appreciated.
Here is the updated version of our pickup system on our robot. We still have a bit of tweaking to do.
