View Full Version : Not getting IO feedback in DriveStation

I do not see the states change for either Digital Inputs and Relays in the DriverStation. I have not yet attached the power from the solenoid breakout board or the analog breakout board attached to the NI 9201 and the NI 9472. Is that my problem?

Where on the Driver Station are you expecting to see these states change?

The new Dashboard (http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/3120/m/8559/l/92432-frc-driver-station-labview-dashboard) no longer contains indicators for relays or Digital inputs, it seems likely you are looking at an old version of the Dashboard which no longer matches the default robot code (in which case you should install this DS update (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2263) and potentially software from this year's NI DVD to get to version 1.29.13.00) or you are looking at the IO tab of the Driver Station which is either used as a virtual input device or used with the Cypress FirstTouch board but doe not reflect the state of Digital IO on the robot.

I have indeed not yet applied the DriverStation update for this year. I will apply this and see if that helps. I was looking at the IO tab though.

The IO Tab of the Driver Station does not reflect the state of any IO on the robot (though it can be read or controlled via code on the robot). This page (http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/3120/m/8559/l/92377-frc-driver-station-software) talks a bit about it's function in the 3 "IO Tab" sections.

Thanks again. I reviewed the link and have a couple of questions.

It appears to me that the IO tab is there for configuring the Cypress IO module, is this a true statement?

Also, have not applied update, but based on earlier response the Operator tab will no longer provide visibility of the current state of digital IO and relays. Is this also a true statement?

Thanks again for your help. I will be applying update after I get home from work.

The I/O state information you're thinking of is actually a function of the Dashboard program, not the Driver Station. The Dashboard is the upper two-thirds of the screen.

But the digital and analog panes you're used to are not there by default anymore. If you want that kind of detailed hardware feedback, the "Test" mode is new this year. It gives complete access to the current state of the I/O you've define, but also lets you change motor and relay values.
