The 5v out is not sending signal and the light is not lit at all. Is there any thing we can do short of buying a new sidecar?

EDIT: The 6v light is lit and so is the battery light, it is just the 5v light that is not lit.

Have you verified that you have 12V power to the sidecar? As in actually measured 12V power at the connector to the sidecar?

We have, we took a multi-meter to where the sidecar is getting power and it was reading 12 volts.

Other possibility is that you're shorting the 5V to ground somewhere. If you disconnect everything from the sidecar and you still don't have a 5V LED, then yes, your sidecar is probably dead and you need a new one. Find out if there are any veteran teams near you, as they usually have a few extra sidecars laying around. Or you can buy one from Andymark.

After everything is disconnected, be sure to turn the sidecar upside-down to loosen any metal shavings that might be the problem. Spray air is a good idea too.
