View Full Version : Need Help ASAP (Signal from Solenoid Breakout)

To the dearest contributors of Chief Delphi who are wiser than we:

This is our problem...

The card "NI9472" inserted into the cRIO appears not to be sending signal to our Festo Double Solenoid valve. The solenoid breakout board is receiving 24V and the small green light on the breakout is lighting up, but the lights of the NI9472 are not.

Our compressor is working wonderfully and shuts off precisely when it should. Everything else is going swimmingly, but this is puzzling us. Even worse, this worked prior to mounting on our robot, but no longer does. We checked all wired connections and they are properly connected as best I can find through Chief Delphi.

Is there a way to test if the NI9472 went bad on us? We don't exactly have an extra of that lying around.

Thank you for your help ahead of time.

Check to make sure you did not bend and of the pins on the cRio where the NI9472 card slots in. We did that with our analog card last week.

Thank you for the quick response. Just removed the NI9472 and there were no bent connecting wires. As a side note to be certain, the red/white connection... red to the outside of the solenoid breakout right?

Is your solenoid actually a 24v solenoid?

Yes. We are using the FESTO 24V DC Double Solenoid valve from the 2012 KOP (VUVG-L10-B52-T-M5).

To those who helped, thank you. The problem appeared to be programming related. We wiped clean the cRio and reloaded code. It now works as planned.
