A Blast from the Past

While visiting a fellow FIRST Alumnus from team 1466, who is now teaching in Malawi(central Africa), seeing this guy in Blantyre Malawi served as a fun connection back to FIRST. Some crew member must have given up their shirt to goodwill, only for it to find a new home about 8000 miles away. In case you cant read it is from the 2000 FIRST championship.

Wow that is crazy!! I have one of those shirts!! I can't remember if I donated the other one or not... now I have to go look. That is absolutely amazing how far things travel. Too cool!

I dont think they will be getting a team anytime soon, corporate sponsors would be difficult. a high paid malawian makes 2 dollars a day(the kind of salary you send some home to help your family). But, Ishi, the fellow firster there, has introduced a lego mindstorm program to the school she is at.
