Hey guys,

So this year Team 2813 Gearheads wants to start the first Robot Challenges at Prospect High School, CA, to challenge other teams to create the fastest robots ever. Team can use previous robots in order to compete. This year, we want to host the Robot Races, in which teams race around the track to see which one's the fastest, and Robot Frisbee Shots, in which team try to shoot frisbees as far as they can.

We want to do this during May, so what do you guys think about it? Let me know soon so we can start prepping for the event. It's going to be fun!

And for those who are worried about registration fees, don't be. This is an event we are hosting for the benefit of everyone, so if we even think about registration fees, don't worry.

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

This sounds really fun. If possible, I'm sure my team and I would love to attend.

After working out more kinks, we've decided this event will be like a drag race. It will be so much fun, but we need a lot of teams to help make this happen!

This sounds pretty interesting, are you going to have special rules to limit the number of motors on a robot because with the current rules I think most teams would make a robot that was 120 lbs of motors.

I believe we will have limitations. Also, we will have limitations to the type of wheels used, as well as limitations of pit supplies since this is happening at a track.

Are we supposed to do this with our robots from the competitive season, because ours has a custom drive-train which seems like it wouldn't fit the limitations.

We are okay with using your robots from previous years, since off-season events such as Calgames require the robot. All rules are standard FIRST rules, except wheels, which should not leave skid marks on the track. Also, pits will be in the middle of the track, so tools will be limited because of fire hazards.

This event is also great for training new recruits.
