Just curious, what are the climb times of most of the 30 pt climbers? I know there was a thread earlier but that was about theoretical climb times. It would also be nice to know how long the climbs in the competition are and how long it takes to line up.

1114 had 14 seconds. I'm not aware of anyone who beat that.

Our best so far is 20 seconds (you can see videos of it here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114813)). There's still a couple of programming bugs slowing things down that we're figuring out, we hope to make the overall time more consistent and maybe even a little quicker.

There were two other 30 point climbers at Lake Superior last weekend, but they both required significantly more time.

Video has it at 12 seconds. Intense.

Does anybody know the fastest 30 pt climb with dump time? I know 254 is crazy fast, but they don't dump the 4 discs.

1334 has a really fast (passive) dump with their climb so total it is really fast.
1114 is close to as fast as them and beats them in the climb but 1334 is much faster with the dump. It all depends on how long it takes for 1334 to align. Also, 179 climbs and dumps pretty fast but they only climb to the second level and I am not sure how fast it is.

Do you know 1334's average time?

There are two threads on this topic already....

Climb and Dump Club: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115456This thread actually pre-dates the Climb and Dump Club. It's pretty old (in forum time), and could well be turned into a more condensed list of climb times, rather than the "club" atmosphere of the first thread.

I did notice that this thread pre-dated the other that was posted. If you notice in the later posts in the climb and dump thread (Like this one (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1263088&postcount=69)) that times are included in a list format.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. In the end, it probably does not matter that much.

The Cheesy Poofs climb takes 6.40 seconds and can be seen here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=UU3bsqu63lKlGLa5exfKNBMw&v=I-IrVbsl_K8#t=9s) Although I'm not sure how often this is successful in competitions. I think they've done some 10's and 20's with it though.

3467 is 18 seconds with a quick 1 second lineup time.

a 30 point climb is an incredible feat by any team. but in my opinion, it is only worth it if you can do it under 20 seconds. otherwise you can out score them. but still a 30 point climb is incredible to watch.

I found it a very quick climb! I timed it & your are correct with the 18 seconds plus 1 second line-up. Loved being down on the field at PTR for field reset. Got to see & feel the energy from all the great teams.

The two fastest 30 pt climbs that I know of are 1114 (at roughly 11 seconds) and 254 (at 6.4 seconds as seen in their teaser video). Team 67 also has a fairly fast climb that is similar to 1114's.

67 and 1114 both have the capacity to then shoot/dump in 4 colored discs into the pyramid goal, while 254 does not. The main other issue with 254's is the location on the pyramid, which does not allow for any other side-climbers to make 30 points.

Even assuming a 10-point, after-the-buzzer climb, it would take 2 additional disc cycles to outscore a 30-point climb. How many teams can complete two full disc cycles in 20 seconds?

How many teams can complete two full disc cycles in 20 seconds?Anyone that can should be out of discs by then anyway. ;) Mostly FCSs, though a good couple of pyramid shooters can run out too.

Climbing faster means you can play defense on another climber longer. If a 10-pointer is trying to slow down a 30-pointer, the faster the latter is the more likely the are to make it up in time. A 30-on-30 would be even more interesting...like playing chicken.

I know 1511 can climb and dump all within 30 seconds, but they do score 4 colored discs and have never had a tumble or near fall off the pyramid.
