Wow, nice. And very visitor friendly, even for those not that knowledgeable about FIRST.

I clicked on the facilities map and it showed a map of the facilities but not one custimized for FIRST. Anyone know if the fields and pits (ie Archimedes closest to the dome, Newton furthest) are going to be in the same place as they were last year?

As long as the fields stay in the dome....

someone in another thread linked this (http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/Community/Volunteers/Volunteers/2013_FIRST_Championship_Pit_plan_2_22_0.jpg) a few days ago.

If that's true, then there are 8 teams still not signed up for Championships! (408 instead of current 400)

or the spare "Pits" are for inspectors/radio/spare parts?

It was probably a "maximum" plan drafted a while ago.

That's the area marked "Inspection/WPA" in front of the practice fields.

Here's another campus map I found on the Lego League World Festival page (http://firstlegoleague.org/event/worldfestivalteams): http://firstlegoleague.org/sites/default/files/Official_Event_Info/World_Festival/SeniorSolutions/FIRST%20Championship%20campus%20map%202%2013.pdf

Did anyone else notice that FIRST relies on spell check too much and doesn't notice errors in grammar?

"Your guide toe the best restaurants, convenient hotel amenities and all the great attractions St. Louis has to offer. While your in the gateway City, it's easy to navigate with these handy travel tools designed to get you going. So what are you waiting for? Explore St. Louis now!"

I noticed that, too. I also noticed that one of the titles on the homepage was labelled "Sport for the mind," despite one of their most commonly used tag lines being "The varsity sport for the mind." On top of that, the former is even worse of a fragment than the latter one was!

And that, folks, is why I try to avoid youtube comments and other places plagued by bad grammar. :D

one of the main reasons I love this new layout is our team is located in the bottom left corner of the picture....

Does 12-2:30 for division elims sound slightly optimistic to anyone else?

They may be abbreviating it in some cases - although I like the original better. See this bus (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=556742834348536&set=a.188288274527329.44763.184063051616518&type=1&theater).

Not necessarily a bad thing :)

Why? It's a maximum of 21 matches, and might be as few as 14. Even with a six minute cycle time, plus occasional "field timeouts" when alliances have consecutive matches, it almost seems like they're scheduling more time than necessary.

If every round were to use all three matches, and if each alliance used its time out, it might run long. But I don't think that's very likely.

My experience with Regionals is that the elims would run from about 1-4 in the afternoon. I just thought 2.5 hours is a little shorter than the typical FRC tournament. Plus, you're scheduling for all 4 divisions, so I would assume at least one would run longer.
