View Full Version : cRIO II image tool not fully detecting

I just brought home the robot so I can learn how to program it myself, and I wanted to connect to it, but Labview doesn't recognize it. So I pulled up the dashboard and even that doesn't connect to it. I opened up the FRC 2013 Imaging tool and that recognizes it, but it doesn't see the used slots and is not able to reimage it.

Can anyone help me?

Many of the features of the imaging tool only work with the cooperation of the cRIO code. If the cRIO has a pretty old image on it, the slots and version field will be blanked.
If the cRIO has DIP switches, verify the condition mentioned in the dialog. You may also need to perform a safe mode format. You should be able to find details on the website.

I've also run into this message on occasion when assigning the IP when the PC is not on the same subnet as the cRIOs current address (only on certain PCs and/or cRIOs for some reason)
You may be able to get things going by giving your PC an address on the 169.254.84 subnet and starting the formatting process, it will almost certainly fail but may be able to set the IP to the new IP before it does. If it succeeds in changing the IP you can move your PC to the new subnet 10.TE.AM where TEAM is your 4 digit team number, then try formatting again.

I don't think you can image a cRIO with Team 0. If you really wanted to try, you'd need to set your computer's IP address to 10.0.0.6 first.
But you probably want to image it for Team 308, so your computer should be set to 10.3.8.6 instead.

That was just a picture I took so people could see what I was getting, I tried 308 and nothing worked.
I am connected via Ethernet cable directly to the cRIO, mainly because when I brought it home I forgot the dlink.
I've also tried it through a router but that didn't work. It's a cRIO II so it doesn't have any dip switches. I tries putting it into safe mode and it didn't work. I am going to try it on another computer, but I am not sure that is the solution
Is there a number from NI that I can call for support?
All and any help is greatly appreciated. I hope that once I get this problem solved, it will be smooth sailing.

In the offseason, I'd try the ni.com/frc support forum. There are phone numbers but the folks who man it are not that familiar with FRC until they are trained for it -- that happens a few months before kickoff.
