In what is probably one of the coolest mainstream promotions of FIRST I have seen, at this Sunday's NASCAR race, Greg Biffle will be sporting a pretty sweet paint job on the #16 car...
For anyone who can't get on Facebook currently:

Can he drive the number 16 to a third straight win at Michigan with FIRST on the hood?
I certainly hope so. The exposure for FIRST would be great!
quick someone send this to team 16 Bomb Squad.

Anyone who has been to a NASCAR Race will know this will really make FIRST loud!
FIRST: Running circles around other high school sports
FIRST students are really going to lap this up
Our message is really picking up speed
Will his pit be restricted to a 10X10 square?
Sure, it's impressive that they can drive at such speeds. But can they launch a trackball over an overpass while they do it?
All bad jokes aside this is really exciting!! I might actually tune in for the race.

OMG! One of my friends on my team is going to the race this weekend at MIS, he'll love it! I'm just jealous that I don't get to go...
It would be great if they put the hood on ebay after the race. Have the proceeds go to your favorite FIRST team.
You guys sure this isn't a Game Hint?

Of course it is a game hint!
Maybe the other part of the game is throwing trackballs over an overpass.
Meh, it seems like a game that might have been good 5 years ago, but not in this day and age. :P

The increased availability of shifting transmissions would make overdrive a bit more exciting. Maybe if you mixed elements of Rack-N'-Roll/Logomotion in it would make for an interesting game.

I like that. Good game idea.

Maybe the endgame should be how many 360s your robot can do in the last 10 seconds. (You know, like a burnout)
This is really awsome..... I'm so happy that first is decidin to do this

It's actually 3M who is doing this. Last week they announced that they were giving up one of their weeks on the hood of the 16 so that they could promote FISRT even more than they already do ($1.5+ million). They are definitely doing a good job of making FIRST loud!

I was just at Watkins Glen (another NASCAR racetrack) last weekend, and I wish this was displayed then. That would have made my weekend if I could point out to the car and explain to my cousins exactly who was on the 16 car.

i wouldn't mind Overdrive 2.0 banked corners with a regolith surface. I am sure it would be a very exciting game to watch

+1 to this!
I would have to fight my team's engineers, but I would really push for Car Steer on our robot for that game.

Why fight? It worked out pretty well for you guys last year with regolith...

As in Lunacy? True  but I was told by our driver from back then that he never really used the car steer, he pretty much always drove it like tank drive.

That is also true.

If you're talking about "Last Year" as in 2012, I wasn't on the team then, so I don't know about any regolith on our robot then. I haven't ever seen any. Nor was there any in 2013.

No, I was talking about 2009. I don't much know what you guys did in '12 or '13 since I stopped being up there and thus not involved. 09 you guys had 4 crab modules with 2 of them physically constrained into a psuedo ackerman. Every time I saw you drove it as tank drive...

The race starts at 1 EST today on ESPN, and this link (http://www.nascar.com/racebuddy) seems like it will have a camera on the hood of the car. And for those of you not on Facebook, 3M Racing posted this on their facebook page today:

And Greg Biffle's #16 car is now in FIRST!

So, where did he finish?
I refuse to watch Nascar ovals out of principal, as only turning one way is stupid and boring in my humble opinion. Il watch road courses, although I wish they used the boot at the glen, its the best bit.

He finished in 9th place. A good showing for Biffle and for FIRST!
Solid. Way to go 3M, FIRST, Greg Biffle, and Roush-Fenway Racing!
Thanks for helping make FIRST loud!

I like how everyone calling for an Overdrive redux game wasn't around for Overdrive the first time. ;)

Idk, I could get behind an Overdrive redux. As long as we don't end up with a Lunacy redux... or another Yet Another Aim High (YAAH).
3M is amazing and I applaud their efforts in the hopes that this becomes a tradition.
What if this is actually first's way of showing us a game hint?????
