What alternative robot frames are out there that are an alternative to the standard kitbot?

Please try to be more specific on what you're looking for. Are you looking for another COTS product or are you interested in designing and building something yourself?
That said, I'll do my best to answer any questions that you may have.

The VEXpro frames are probably the closest things in terms of simplicity to build and features.

We used the 2013 Drive in a Day Chassis this year and it was great.
West Coast Drive :p
But in all seriousness it depends on the resources of your team. If you want to buy COTS AM/Vexpro frames are probably best choice, 221 LCC makes WCD/ish? frames but they are pricey.
If you search CD you will find tons on custom frames/drivetrains as well as lots of info on the AM/Vex frames.

Good idea: WCD
Costly idea: 221 WCD
I suggest OP researches drivetrains a little more before making a concrete decision on what to buy.
AndyMark also has their cheep and dirty kit and various nanno tube options.

Check out the Nanotubes from AndyMark. They come in 20" and 31" lengths and can be easily assembled into a 4WD, or 6WD drop center configuration. Just cut and mount some crossmembers, a belly pan, motors and wheels, and you're (mechanically) good to go. We've used them 2 of our 3 years, and have been happy with them. They're also easily reconfigurable for a demo or practice bot.
