View Full Version : non kit Battery connectors?
Just a matter of curiosity is it required by FIRST to use the battery connectors provided in the KOP?

You have to use the the Anderson Powerpole Connectors.
See rule R38 (http://frc-manual.usfirst.org/viewItem/307). This could change in next year's rule book but I highly doubt it.

Just a note... the connector is NOT a PowerPole. It's is part of Anderson's Multipole series, specifically the SB series - SB-50A, per the 2013 KOP checklist. Just don't want anyone to get confused :)

Thanks for the correction Jon, it was late. :)
Also make sure they are the Red version of the SB50. Each color is keyed differently so you can't plug a grey connector into a red connector.

I saw a bunch of these for sale at the Dayton Hamfest this summer. I should have picked some up.
The person selling them was shocked at how much current we're pulling through them.

Continuous rating is far less than momentary rating. Or 2.25 minute rating...
well we've actually ran our robot for close to 17hrs straight , so the connectors can take a good amount of beating.
