One of the things to try to get new Roboteers and their families to go to events. My son and I were hooked when we went to Ramp Riot, I try to send people to local events.

On the VEX side, there is Robotevents.com which has every even and I push people there to find all of the VEX events near them.

Digging into the Calendar option here on Chief Delphi, there are not a lot of posted events (locally, Duel, Ramp Riot, MAR etc. ) that have dates posted.

While I'm happy to post links to events so my local roboteers can find competitions to see.

Can I ask, if you are running an event, stuff a link into the calendar? I'm trying to inspire roboteers and their families, knowing when/where makes it easier.

No, like this: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/calendar.php

And just as a general Fosterism, I'm not downloading docs, yours, Googles or any others. I can't think anything I hate more than downloading a virus/malware ridden chunk of a document or excel file.

Thanks!

How do you survive using the internet for more than 10 minutes without downloading something?

Also, check Joe's second link, that's about the best you'll get.

Andymark has a similar calendar.

I think it'd be great if these events were captured on robotevents.com/robot-competitions/FIRST (http://www.robotevents.com/robot-competitions/first)

The page already exists, and you can't beat that awesome domain name.

EDIT:
Andymark has a similar calendar (http://www.andymark.com/Calendar-s/241.htm).
It also has an embedded copy of the Google doc linked above. Tricked you into downloading it, Foster!

Its worth noting that the Chief Delphi calendar is a neglected feature and is supposed to be removed pretty soon.

Also, you don't need to download that file to view it. If you have a google account, you can open it in your browser using Google Docs.

Not quite. CD-Events will be removed, but the calendar will be retained.
CD-Events was never really completed or used to its full potential, and will be removed. The vBulletin calendar functionality will remain, though.

Pretty well thanks. I like to see the info up front, not need to dig into many files to see each thing of data

The AM calendar is fine, I'll direct people there and once the FIRST season starts try to get direct link to the events.

No, some smart person imbedded the document so it shows on the page. A lot different than a link to GDocs that then opens the document.

Thanks to all that sent links in.....

noscript (http://noscript.net/)

(Which, ironically, you have to download)
