Has anyone successfully mounted VEX omniwheels like these (http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/wheels-and-hubs/omni-wheels/omni-wheels.html) onto Tetrix DC motors? If so, can you share what you needed to do to make it work? Or does it work out of the box?
thanks

It does not work out of the box. The Tetrix motor output is a 6mm diameter shaft with a flat on it for a set screw (D-shaft). The regular Tetrix axles are 4.7mm diameter. The omni wheels you link to require the VexPro VersaHubs (http://www.vexrobotics.com/versahubs.html (http://http://www.vexrobotics.com/versahubs.html)) to interface with any kind of shaft, but these are illegal per the FTC rules because they are non-Tetrix hubs (http://ftcforum.usfirst.org/showthread.php?1923-Robot-Parts-and-Materials-Answer-Thread&p=7130&viewfull=1#post7130). If you want to use the wheels, you'll have to find a way to manufacture your own hubs from raw stock that go from the VersaKey pattern to the 6mm motor shaft, the 4.7mm axle shaft, or the bolt pattern used by the Tetrix gears/sprockets/hubs so you can attach it to a Tetrix hub.

Thank you for your reply. FTC has recently amended the rules to allow the compatible hubs. See the official post at http://ftcforum.usfirst.org/showthread.php?1923-Robot-Parts-and-Materials-Answer-Thread&p=7546&viewfull=1#post7546
