View Full Version : [FF]: 2014 Season Long Waiver Thread
With FF registration now closed, it's time to get the waiver list out and ready to go.
First, how this works:
If a team becomes available AFTER the draft of any event, they go on waivers, effective as soon as they're discovered. (This also applies to teams dropped by FF teams who drop out.) The only teams this doesn't apply to are teams traded to the pool before midnight PST on draft day. They stay on waiver until the next time waivers are cycled (minimum 48 hours on waiver).
Any FF team may claim any team on waivers that is in their tier. Valid claims include the team claimed, the team to be dropped if the claim is awarded, and the event and tier the claim is made in. If multiple claims are made during any cycle, priority order would be nice; if multiple claims are made by one FF team for one tier, please prioritize the adds and the drops separately (this makes it easier for me to figure out which team drops if the 1st add claim doesn't go through).
One note, claims can be submitted via PM or via this thread.
When waivers are cycled, the FF team with the highest priority gets their first claim and goes to the bottom of the priority list. I remove that team from anybody else's claims, and do that a few more times until there are no more claims. Any team left unclaimed is a free agent; any dropped team goes onto waivers.
I will try to cycle waivers Sundays around 8 PST; however, I may fudge that up to one day in either direction with notice given ahead of time.

I'm going to make a slight change to the waiver procedure. Officially, y'all have until Sunday (when I start cycling) to make your claims. BUT! If the first team on the priority list makes a claim, I'll cycle their first claim ASAP and update until I hit a team that doesn't have a claim.
The other thing that's going to be a bit different is that I am not updating the individual threads. There's just too many of them--the booted teams were almost never in the same tier. I'll update them when I cycle teams, if a claim is made, or over the following week if no claim is made in that tier.

Might be another couple o' nights. As you can guess, lots of claims. Good news is that most of the lists have run out. Bad news is that the ones that are left had REALLY deep lists! Second bit of bad news is that I'll be largely unable to work on waivers tomorrow night (and I'm cutting it off for tonight due to needing sleep and still not having lists for most of tomorrow's 4 or so drafts).
So, here's the scoop. I'll finish off hopefully on Wednesday, no later than Thursday. I'll post the list of awarded claims and the list of teams currently on waiver (this round's drops, plus 341, plus anybody else sneaking in--find someone, speak up), as well as the current priority list. At that point, I'd like some help to go through all of the tiers to tidy up the tiers--remove booted players, put waiver teams on waiver, put free agents in the pool, and award teams that have been awarded. That's *only* 70 or so tiers, but it does take a while. The official volunteer call will be when I post the claims--volunteer, and I'll drop about 5-10 tiers to ya at a time.
Oh, and once I do put out the waiver, I'll probably figure a week from that day before cycling again.

I've still got teams on your list, which means you're near the bottom (though given the lengths of certain lists, not AT the bottom when all's said and done). OTOH, you might get lucky.
FYI, as Hindsight is at the top of the priority list, I will be including that claim with this round, running AFTER I finish everybody else.
At LONG last, the waivers have been fully cycled. So, here are the awards (team, then tier, new team, old team, repeat), the new priority list, and the new waiver teams list.
Before you read the lists, though, I would like to make a quick note: In some cases, players may have specified the wrong tier, or a team that wasn't available. (Or worse, swapped their in/out claims.) In such cases, particularly with a large volume of claims, chances are that the team(s) in question will NOT be awarded! Given that nobody else got them, however, they are now free agents. (Not gonna post that list, fellas. Not in this post, at any rate.) If that's you, feel free to clean up the tiers when you make any free agent trades.

For Lake Superior tier 1, Curiosity was supposed to get 3018, not 3108. Probably just a typo.

To make your life easier, we could make each person receiving a team responsible for updating their teams in the affected threads.
Thanks for getting the waivers done so quick!
To make your life easier, we could make each person receiving a team responsible for updating their teams in the affected threads.
I'd be willing to do that, and it would be faster, but (a) it's not going to happen and (b) it's inefficient (multiple waiver claims for the same tier). With about 45 tiers, it'll be pretty quick work for 5-10 volunteers. Eric, do you want to organize assigning of tiers for updating?

That's exactly what I'm doing. If someone wants to help, I drop somewhere between 5 and 10 tiers to them, in the form of the add/drop teams, and figure that the claim award list has been posted, which will fill in the gaps.
My preference is pretty much to work the way it is now, but if someone makes a free-agent trade and someone hasn't gotten to that tier, then it'd be great if the tier was updated--just let me know so I don't drop it in someone's lap.
Here's the new waiver teams and dropped teams in a spreadsheet. I mentioned the teams that have picking priority in the tiers I posted in, but it's your responsibility to check your teams and see if you get picking priority for the event.
FYI, I went back to the events I overlooked and updated the added/dropped teams in this same spreadsheet.
Lastly, sorry about the random burst of posts in the tiers asking for swaps. I got several of those wrong by total accident and I had forgotten that these teams really go to the waivers.

I'll go for the Sunday cycle--but as a reminder, I've got a Thursday cycle first with a bunch of teams from the last set of waivers. (And I know that one of those teams is going out the door!)

Pure MI waiver lists sent to Erich for both waiver cycles.
All righty then. It's Thursday, and I've had claims for exactly 1 team.
PureMichigan gets 341 in FLR 2, dropping 378. (And they go to the bottom of the waiver priority list.)
All other teams listed last week are now free agents.
So, now we come to this week. Here's how I'm figgerin' it'll go down:
bam-bam already put out a spreadsheet of added teams and dropped teams--I figure "why duplicate work?" (Though I'll be copying the adds into my tracking sheet.) If you have a dropped team, you have Missing Team Priority (MTP) in that tier--you're at the very top of the waiver priority list for that tier, you can pick any team that isn't already picked, but if you pick a waivered team, you'll be at the bottom of the list on the spot. Y'all let me know if you're missing a team. (I do double-check--or I might get lazy. Ya feelin' lucky?) Multiple MTPs in one tier? First one to speak wins.
Now, all those added teams are considered to be on waiver in all tiers for that draft--until Sunday night! (I might decide to extend until sometime on Tuesday, FYI--I've got some more time then.) You want 'em, you claim 'em.
One catch, though. Centerline 1, 217 already got claimed using MTP--PureMichigan, replacing 3539, dropped team (and they're already at the bottom of the list). Automated Scoring has MTP in Centerline 2, same missing team--nobody else has told me yet that they're missing a team.

If that is true, then are all those teams now free agents? If not, then bam-bam, you can't just decide to pickup teams willy-nilly - gotta put in waiver claims for each of 'em bro.

As per our list, Automated Scoring will take 217 in Center Line using up our Missing Team Priority for that event.
What with a bunch of stuff (like putting away Christmas decorations) going on, waiver cycling will be postponed to Tuesday and/or Wednesday. Claim lists will be accepted until I announce that I'm cycling waivers.

I was thinking I should start powering through the claims I've seen so far (besides me being late on starting). If Sour Patch is on the brink of elimination, that's going to clutter up the week after Kickoff with a pretty good-sized batch.
Therefore, waviers are now closed for cycling.
After the drafts, I'll put out a partial list, AKA what I've gotten so far, for cleanup, and we'll see how much is left.

Guess what, no claims. So... If they ain't claimed in a tier, they're a free agent. (I'm not entirely certain all the waiver claims from the last week got processed--if anybody runs across a tier with waiver teams, I'd appreciate if they would check for awards and then put everybody that isn't claimed into the free agent pool.)
Sorry for updating the tiers, Eric. I'll try to do some a bit at a time everyday.
Small PSA: Please check your respective tiers to see if your roster is up-to-date. I will do what I can with the latest, but not all of the last ones (when Rush27 and the other team got dropped) were not updated.

While updating the tiers, wait for the Michigan events until they are full. The lottery was just the other night and the team lists will go up to 40 soon.
330 has switched from Central Valley Regional to San Diego Regional. Waivers in SD close no earlier than Tuesday night.
That would be Schroedinger's Cat (Tier 1) and Team Hindsight (Tier 2) with Missing Team Priority.

OK, it took a "little" longer than Tuesday night.
Falcon gets 330 in Tier 1, for 4583.
Automated Scoring gets 'em in Tier 2 for 5199.
Two trips to the bottom of the list coming right up!
One more PSA before events start: Make sure you have all your waiver teams or you will lose points compared to the teams you have now! Don't make this too difficult for our scorers, please.
