i think this question was already asked....but...
When exactly do those pins inside break and when they do, what exactly occurs?
My guess is it came in very handy in the past years when a lot of stress from bumping occurred... do we need them this year?
I guess the impt question is how often do they break and how much would it take to break it.

I have already commented on this subject (I don't know
what Brandon has done with the search feature or I
would have a link to it -- actually, he tells me that a
new search feature is coming, I suppose that he took
the old search down to work on the new search feature).
My bottom line is that I like the FIRST solution that
they have for sale through Small Parts Inc.
BUT... Drive systems are SO critical and the
DrJoesDrillShaft solution is competition tested and not
too expensive, I recommend that teams make them and use
them anyway.
Next year if the new coupling works out, use them.
This year I would wait and see.

P.S. Pushing is NOT the highest load condition on the
robot motor shafts. Excited drivers instantaneously
going from Full Speed ahead to Full Reverse in the heat
of battle put much more stress in those shafts than a
straight pushing match will ever stress them. Dynamic
Loading is real and really significant.JJ

aye, well, i figured this could be adjusted via software, but perhaps i'll go hardware on this one and fix those babies...
how long does it take to fix each one ?

Anton. Removing the pin allows the robot to free wheel and not damage the planetary gears inside ( not a good thing ).
Many bots will meet their demise at the end of the bridge when they fly down the ramp and hit the floor angle with power on, so becareful?
Take the pins out if your considering pushing/pulling the goal up the ramp.
