A better version I've hear is: Don't drill a piece of metal you are holding in the center of your hand.

I prefer don't use a drill press as a hand drill........oh wait, we did that last year....

i think its in iceland that they have a law where all chainsaws need to have a warning label saying...'dont try to stop chain with hand'...
