Look here. (http://robotics.nasa.gov/events/2014_sponsorship.php)

If you'll pay attention to requirement 4 of the "critical items" teams agreed upon when submitting a grant, it says teams need to:

Build a robot and compete at the awarded event.

So what do you think? Is this a hint? Do you think we need to build robots this year? Will we be competing at events?

Wil, I think you may be on to something here. We should create a few more rumor and game hint threads just to be sure of it, though.

I think you're reading into it too much, Wil. Get some sleep. There will be no robot building of any sort this year.

FIRST subtly supports this hint too. They let teams register for events and give us robot drivetrains. Maybe they're trying to mislead us.

Must be a water game again.

Obviously, we're competing for the single spot to use China's moon rover!

Yes but it does not say when you need to build the robot and at what year you must compete at the awarded event. All this means is that sometime in the future, there will be a game in which robots are involved. No promises that the game that involves robots is next year.

People really need to calm down with this whole "typos might be game hints!" thing.

I couldn't agree more. This thread is really pushing it and the OP should have considered ignoring this altogether. That guy has no life.

9 words in that hint is 3 x 3, continuing to support the thesis that there will be something to do with the number 3 in this year's game.

Half Life 3 confirmed?

Maybe the FRC game this year IS Half Life 3.

If one thread doesn't answer my questions, five most certainly will!

I think this thread is clearly a game hint. The 2014 game will be who can best use Chief Delphi and social media to mock students for being excited enough to dare post on public forums about the 2014 game. You guys are all off to a great start.

Seriously though, if threads bother you, just ignore them and move on. Remove the Rumor Mill from your front page feed if you must. How would you like it if one of your first posts on Chief Delphi was responded to like this?

robot backwards is tobor and award backwards is drawa which could be another hint...

We need to draw a tobor!

If you keep looking into everything you see like this, you're going to be sorely disappointed come the 4th.

If you ask FIRST, the answer is no.... Hints, when released, are pretty clearly labeled.

As mentioned above, calm down everyone.

Hmm, we are folks who build things, maybe we can build a life for that guy (or at least half of one...)

For all we know, your reply to this thread is a game hint! Maybe whoever can convey the largest amount of needless self-righteousness and whoever can climb the tallest pedestal of moral superiority wins.

Come on man, there's 28 days to kickoff. Everyone knows that even the rare official game hints are tongue-in-cheek anyway. You're allowed to have fun on the internet. I guess your idea of fun could be some attempt at verbally dressing down someone, though, so feel free to continue.

If anyone has a problem with this thread, they are free to PM me with their concerns. If moderators or administrators have an issue, they reserve the right to delete this thread without notice. The world will continue to turn with or without this thread.
