I should make it clear that I in fact voted for the FIRST Championship event, not the other fine programs listed, and it's suggested you do the same.

So, it's great that everyone is voting for champs, but is FRC Champs really a family-friendly event? Considering the hustle and bustle in the pits, the tensions in the stands (seating), and the overall competitive attitude, I think it's a hard sell.

I'm all for making it loud and stuff, but I can't help but think that we are taking the position of an event that may be more deserving of this recognition.

Actually... Seeing as I am a native St. Louisian, I did vote for champs, but also for a couple of other programs on there that I have been involved in/ have participated in since childhood (<3 the Balloon Race), so I could not help but give them a vote.

Sorry for being a bit of a traitor... :o

I STILL LOVE YOU FIRST!

I have been to the Championship event twice; neither time as a participant, and both times with my family (pregnant wife, 3yo then wife, 5yo, 1yo). Both times, there were plenty of activities and excitement for all parties involved. I would absolutely classify it as family-friendly.

My post was meant to be clever but was ill-worded. There are plenty of things on that list that deserve votes. Among them is the CMP.

Until I attended an event just as a spectator (rather than a participant/coach/volunteer/cheering section/student wrangler) I'd have never believed how relaxing and fun competitions are as an unattached party. Without all of the stress attached to having a role events are what I would consider family friendly, especially with the emphasis on "spectator friendly" games, teams and sponsor booths with fun give aways, interactive displays, etc.
