I talked to Glen Pearson who is on the Planning Committee for FLR @ the FTC Qualifier. They're bringing one more team off the waitlist and they're a doozy (they would have been the number one pick if they were listed).
Keep an eye on the waiver wire.

I will admit to premaking a post or three when I knew someone was about to get kicked out and had some good teams. At least once, the reaction was "Holy Cow!" after I posted within seconds of the boot being applied.

I think the waiver system does a better job of keeping things "even" than "fastest fingers"--it's just a bit more work!

Reclaiming teams when players are booted is different, and definitely should be in waivers. When a new team is added to the event, I think it might stay fair to do a first come first served claim.

The main issue with that is, in many cases, it isn't announced or publicized when a new team joins a regional/event.
