Student and Teacher of the Year

Hi all,

We've had some exciting developments at our school that I wanted to tell CDers about. Over the past two weeks we've seen two amazing things. One is that one of our Seniors, Witni, has been selected out of a school of over 1300 students as Student of the Year. Much of her award is predicated on her involvement in a FIRST Robotics Team. Now she is going on to compete at the regional level.

Of much less importance to me personally is that I've been selected as Teacher of the Year as well. This will hopefully aid others in seeing the amazing impact that robotics has not just on the lives of students but also old people like me. Its our hope that we can move further than the regional level and will get the opportunity to compete at both the State and National Level as ambassadors for FIRST.

Please pass my (and I'm sure everyone else's) congratulations to Witni on her recognition. This is wonderful for you, Witni, your team, and the community at large. I also wish her the best of luck as she moves on to the next level.

Also congratulations to you Daniel. That is fantastic that you have been chosen as Teacher of the Year. I'm sure you are making a huge impact in so many kid's lives. I know many of your posts on CD is very inspiring. I also wish you the best of luck in the next level.

It always makes me happy to hear when FIRST Community members get recognized for their strong efforts with the program. :)
