2014 Game Theories

Ok, this isn't for talking about the hints. The idea here is to post your theory of what the game will be. Curious who if any will be closest come January 4th.

My theory:
A hockey game played on the same surface as Lunacy to give it an ice hockey feel. I also think there will be a mini-bot throwback. The mini-bot will be a quadcopter type thing that will be used to score bigger points. There will be 3 alliance: blue, red and green. 2 teams per alliance.

All the Doctor Who references give to the fact that they are traveling back in time to past competitions to pull out all the stops this year. :)

Are you purposely putting together two of the most hated game components from the past 5 years?

While I love most (if not all) the ideas stated above, I know what the game will be: CTF! The field will be of similar shape and size to those from Rebound Rumble and Ultimate Ascent, with two team stations on either side. The floor will be some texturally interesting material, or possible combination of materials. There will be an assortment of weights in the middle of the field, with varying weights. The goal will be to, with some automatous mode, get the most weights on your side of the field. The interesting part is, "Do we push it in front of us, hoping another team doesn't take it, or do we pick it up, and carry it?" A balancing end-game finishes the round. What do you guys think?

This still might work... I'm still interested in how people think about this.

The mini bot comes from a link that I caught posted somewhere on FRC to http://www.youtube.com/user/dblavery/videos

His videos are game videos and award videos. All except the latest one that was a quad copter test at NASA.

Street Hockey

2 alliances of 3 teams compete to score the most goals with tennis balls.There is a hockey goal in the middle of each alliance(similar to breakaway goals). There are many balls on the field of play (50+). Normal robots cannot go into a "goalie box" without penalties. Some robots may choose to be goalies, but they cannot score balls for their alliance. Scoring robots may not pick up balls. Once a tennis ball touches the ground it must continue to touch the ground (,like the soccer balls in breakaway had to touch the ground).Endgame is a shootout.

Yep, there was a pretty popular thread on this topic made back in April, and it is still often used as the go to thread for any guesses. Please just use that.

No offense, but in spite of your caveat, this will become a parallel thread.

Quadracopters and TARDIS's, TARDIi, TARDAe?

A mashup of previous games. That is usually the paradigm.

I will respect your intentions and go with a Hockey Game.
The endgame may ask us to "pull the goalie" and go on a scoring frenzy.

Not a quadracopter, but one of those simple helicopters ($20) to be launched in the endgame to rescue the Princess from Donkey Kong. :D

Why so rude? This thread was dying anyway. All this was supposed to be was peoples theories. Not discussing hints in a 10+ page post. I figured it would be fun to see if anyone was correct. Why keep every aspect of talking about the 2014 game in one over blown thread.

This thread isn't about the hints really, it was about guessing the game. If the admins want to delete it, they are well within their rights, but commenting on a post that you don't like is just a way to keep it alive.
