Topic title is self-explanatory, a little over 2 hours to go! Let's just have a thread to keep all the discussion of what's going on at kickoff in this one thread.

Excited, as always.

Huddling in Montreal right now, waiting for it to start. Feels like -30°C out here.
Our science center is hosting the event.

Steven Donow

The main feed (linked in my first post) has been bad all morning, I've been on the "backup stream" which is currently showing NASA TV stuff

How about that cim cooler, maybe some climbing? Or intense motor use... maybe speed. I guess we will find out!

NASA TV feed is bad... we have only audio... For those of you with a good feed... Keep the observations going!

It seems like NASA TV is ahead of the webcast

What do they mean by changing the game all season, from kickoff to championship? Are the rules going to be constantly fluctuating?

Web streams have buffer time.

when was this said?

It was near the beginning somewhere... Woodie said they were doing "something new this year".

I wonder if there is a reason Dean has been standing up for most of the webcast so far?

I wonder if there is a reason Dean has been standing up for most of the webcast so far?

BECAUSE HE DOESNT WANT TO GET HIS PANTS WET IN THE WATER COVERING THE FIELD. ITS A METAPHOR

Entire field just shown...I wonder what that cylinder is for. Maybe to put game pieces in? or the robot must fit inside it (mini-bot)?

Have they ever shown part of the field before the game reveal?

In 2011, they handed out game pieces to the crowd before revealing the game.

i think so.

i know they hint at the game pieces every year, but im not sure if they've shown the actual piece before

2006 They had the entire field except the ends uncovered. But that year everything was at the ends.

Leads me to believe big center based game. 2004, 2007, etc

This is not the year to become a score keeper - I think I'll stick with inspection!

I just found the statement, and I think I just interpreted it wrong. I think he just meant they already did make changes throughout the season.
